So I quit sometime in 2014 and only started playing again this year. After coming back, I found the KV-4tress doesn't really live up to its nickname anymore. The penetration power creep and matchmaking seems to have largely made it's armour more of a hindrance than a benefit and it seems wargaming have completely abandoned this line, as the two new heavy lines go through the IS. Even the players seem to have abandoned the line, as I rarely see people playing any of these tanks. I don't play the KV-4 much anymore and wondered if anyone knows if there are any buffs planned for this line or if I should simply sell the tank and start grinding towards one of the newer heavies?

Replace your KV-4 with a Defender and you'll never look back.

Pens bad, arty loves you long time, everyone slings gold.  I punted on this line and switched my efforts to the IS-3. KV-4 been power creepered into obsolescence

KV-4 has been a pretty bad tank since 2016, which is when the powercreep for the game began happening. With each update, the KV-4 becomes worse and worse, just because everything else is becoming better and better.

The KV-4 is pretty bad. There will be a game once in a while where the armor works, but the vast majority of the time the KV-4 is a disappointment these days. I ground the KV-4 at the same time as the VK100.01P and the power-creep was palpable. The VK is leaps and bounds better than the KV-4 and they're meant to play similar roles.

Sold mine and never looked back.  I DID make it all the way to the IS-4 first, though.

I didn't even keep it back in 2015 and I rage sold it once before buying it back and finishing it. The tank badly needs to be swapped out with one of the KV4 variants.

The KV-4 wasn't a hard grind but it was never a keeper.  Tier 8, then and now, has better options for heavy tanks.

Are you serious!

If you cant make a KV-4 work for you, its not the tank that is holding you back!

Dont you know its common knowledge that a good player can excel in any tank!

Most players have already said it here but yeah, it's not woth keeping it unless you are a collector. KV4 was still a fortress back in 2016 and 2015 but when premium tanks like the Skorpion were introduced the armor was useless, when heavy tanks like the defender and the AMX 49 or the T26E5 were introduced, its fame as a worth heavy tank faded away, and when new lines of Japanese and soviet tanks were introduced the tank itself just died, the whole IS-4 line is impopular right now, the only tanks that are worth keeping in my opinion are the T-150 to roflstomp newbies and the ST-I because it's actually a good tank.

I sold my KV-4 because i was ''tired'' of  driving a giant flat box, with a giant turret, with guns that don't terrorize other players (yet the 107 mm gun is good)

Its not a bad tank.  Its just a powercrept one.   Good in situations, but you wont carry often.  But, it also wont be the reason the team loses.

I've kept the KV-4 and KV-5 to store crew members. Freed up 12 barracks slots.

After I finally got the ST-I the KV-4 was sold.  Not the worst tank but in a world full of soviet tier 8 HTs (IS3, IS3A, IS6, KV5, Obj 252U all in my garage) it is not one that I will play any more.

Well, no.  There are quite a few tanks that I can't play worth a steamy pile of politics and it is squarely on my badness.  Many people can make a Pz. I C sing, I can only make it fart...

Just buy some low tier tanks for that especially this month since they're having a 277 and K91 on track.

You do realize he has never played the KV4 in the current meta...or any tank from the IS4 line.
