I am wondering why it seems that no one wants to platoon any more, doesn't everyone want free XP ?

I've never really liked Platooning. When I'm playing solo, I can pick and choose tanks at my whim without worrying about what tank selection somebody else has. Also, if I die in a battle I can just select another tank to play right away instead of waiting (Alternatively, if I'm stuck in a lengthy battle, there's nobody waiting for me).

And lastly, when you're in a Platoon, you're much less likely to see top Tier battles (Or in the case of Tier 10 tanks, full Tier 10 matches instead).

That being said, if you want to Platoon with me, just let me know - I'm still always willing to Platoon with people that ask... I just never actively go looking for Platoons.

I'll platoon to help people with missions or with people looking for someone to chat with.  I tend not to platoon with the random start of match invites unless the person has a mission to do.

If you want to platoon sometime let me know.

I need more platoon mates. I spend too much time playing solo. Nowadays everyone invs me so I can carry their missions.

I agree. I'm typically somewhat uncomfortable unless I'm in a group with friends I know well, which hasn't happened in WOT for a long time. I also have this weird mental switch that happens when I play with friends. Often I'm able to snap out of it now, but I would let them "backseat drive" me while I was playing. In other words, I most definitely didn't play my best at times when I was with a group of friends or otherwise.

To continue though, I have gotten invited to a few platoons (Once for helping a teammate flip his tank right-side up, and the other for, what I assume, being one of the two players who achieved a lot of kills in a match). I'd say it typically depends on your behavior, certain circumstances, and your skill.

Greetings btw. (First post here on WOT forums) :hiding:

Like Scorp said, even with the exp bonus quite often you're still earning less because of the additional downtime between matches.

I am by character and inclination a solo player, probably exacerbated from 20+ years of playing solo TBS PC games. Instinctively I know that a well-knit 3-tank platoon, or even two tanks working cooperatively, will do better than one acting alone. I am trying to change my mindset and comfort levels to open myself up to more cooperative play. Then too there's the problem of comms, since my headset/mic setup seems to demand a new sound card which I can't afford atm, and comms are essential to teamwork, be it in platoons or strongholds. I owe my clan my first coop games once I get the sound issues fixed, then I'll probably look to platoon on a more regular basis. This should help me with the missions that have me stalled as well.
