Hey there,

I can't seem to find a way to show the tank type symbols on the side panels in game. I'm trying to learn all the tank types by their names, but making a quick judgement of stuff like "no arty" or "lots of heavies" would be way easier as a learning player. Is that possible? I even looked on Aslain's modpack and didn't see anything.

It'd be like having the symbols that are in the top kill score bar next to each tank.

Cheers

If you're talking about the team display things, they order tanks by tier and then type. They're also colored differently. (arty is a sort of orange, etc)

Also if you want a overall judgement they have how many of each tank type there is at the top of the screen

I believe the OP is implying that it would be beneficial for the new player if the emblems next to the names on the side panel lists were just the various diamonds (for Heavies, Meds and Lights), triangle (TD) or box (arty) that is shown across the top rather than a silhouette that is just something else to decipher.

I agree. This should be an option/mod.

With the large numbers of tanks now in the game this would make for better info to the new player ( and the forgetful) than a near meaningless silhouette.

You'd then have the name of the player, the tier of the tank, the name of the tank and immediately also know the class of the tank.

Yeah that's exactly what I mean. :)

It seems odd that with all the other options this isn't one of them, even in an addon form.

I try to use the name/silhouette, but it's fairly daunting.

You can do it with XVM.

I also agree that this would be nice.

Even so, I have learned to ignore the silhouettes and look mostly at the names of the tanks.  I don't memorize them, per se, though I tend to develop strong pattern recognition quickly.  After a while, it starts getting easier.

Perhaps this could be a suggestion to add to the client?  I would like to see it.

Do you happen to know where the XVM setting is? I went through all of the mods that I could see and wasn't able to find anything about "tank type". Perhaps it's just called something different and I'm not noticing?

As I said above, do you happen to know what it's called? I went through all of Aslain's and didn't see any reference to just adding tank type icons to the panels. I'll have a 3rd look though.

It's rough to configure it yourself. Check out my modpack; it has that function: http://forum.worldof...on-stats/unread

I just saw that while looking through aslain's last night.
Just click on the options until you see the sample you want.
