I have seen and read a lot of posts about the IS6 needing a buff, A lot agree that it needs to be buffed and a lot of others agree that it needs to be nerfed or stay the same.

I have 727 battles and counting on the tank. I have had the tank for two years and nothing has changed with it.

Speed=ok

Pref=tier 9

Gun=Sh** (Bad accuracy, Bad apcr, terrible AP.)

Camo=Sh**

Matchmaking=Iffy

Silver/exp making= Decent, (made 110,000 one match but that was with premium)

Armor=Terrible (turret is easily to be penned, hull and frontal armor is curved and no matter which way you side scrape you can be easily penned especially with APCR/HESH/HEAT rounds).

I love the tank but after each update thats major the tank has become weaker. Not saying that the tank has changed but the new vehicles have no problem taking the tank on.

Other tanks that are tier 8 or tier 9 can pen the front of it with standard ap even if the hull is being hidden.

I do not mind what kind of buff the tank gets. armor buff, gun buff, or even both. If it gets a buff I believe that the pref should be removed cause it is honestly a terrible tier 8 premium right now.

Try to play about 15+ matches in the tank without firing gold ( it comes pricey without premium time) You will then see on what I am talking about.

Post your opinions. Prob gonna get negative or troll feedback cause this forum is known for that but oh well im just speaking my opinion and others opinions and the TRUTH

If I am not mistaken the defender  gets tier 10's but its 12,000 gold, the IS6 costs 11,800. so whats the deal? why make the tank crap and not pay attention to the people who spend their own money on the game and get something thats not even worth it?

By wargaming's sense of urgency on the preferential premium buff it will be next year before we see anything.

Speed=ok

Pref=tier 9

Gun=Sh** (Bad accuracy, Bad apcr, terrible AP.)  Just hold your beer, its getting a pen buff (albeit a small one)

Camo=Sh** It's a heavy.....what do you expect?

Matchmaking=Iffy Yea, MM as a whole is "iffy".

Silver/exp making= Decent, (made 110,000 one match but that was with premium) With said pen buff you should theoretically pen more often which means more credits.

Armor=Terrible (turret is easily to be penned, hull and frontal armor is curved and no matter which way you side scrape you can be easily penned especially with APCR/HESH/HEAT rounds). Its armor is getting buffed too (turret cheeks I think).

It's been like eight month wargaming is dragging their feet on this subject!

I wonder how much more testing is needed before they actually release the changes???

I have no idea, but from looking and reading these (supertest) topics, the tank is still going to be [edited]. it doesnt have the power it deserves. I mean look at the defender, lowe, jagd 8.8, like the have armor, guns, some camo.

I think the only tank I think thats balanced is the E25 ( I love my e25)

The E25 is a very strong TD and everyone knows it and you think it’s balanced?  Okay.

It's still limited to tier 9 maximum, so you can't compare it to tanks that get to see tier 10s...

Play with the is-6 doesn't seem different.  Still watching the teams playing the maps like the first time and not encouraged.

So this morning, Saturday,  I played ten battles with the IS-6. Lost seven won three.  Got the tank so I could feel better about the game, it is fun when I win half or more, not encouraged. Update: Saturday early evening ten battles yielded six victories.  I would be happy breaking even.  Sunday ten battles yielded five victories. Thought it would be better.

Keeping this on the IS-6/IS-6B thread:

I believe some, if not all of the pref mm tanks received buffs recently.  Does anyone know if the IS-6/IS-6B was one of those, and if it was, has anyone played it and seen any improvement?  In light of the 96 hour sale for the Obj 252U being on sale, if the IS-6/IS-6B received a buff, how does it compare to the 252U?

Yes, the IS-6 received a buff. Not sure about armor buffs, but the pen 186/225.

I have played, I run standard ammo, not sure about improvements, the IS-6 is one of those that is heavily dependent on the player's skill, but I am certain the buffs did not hurt it at all. If a person runs premium ammo, obviously the 225 pen will be hard hitting.

I have the 252U also, after almost 1500 battles in the IS-6, and 400 battles in the 252u, no doubt the 252u is superior, but the issue with the 252u is the gun handling, it is rather poor compared to the IS-6. I actually like playing the IS-6 more, it is a fun tank, but no doubt the 252u is all around a better tank, minus the gun handling. If you run premium in the IS-6, you have the pen of the 252u, just less damage, and the armor on the 252u is better also.

Hey Pushok, I appreciate the input on this for sure.  Thanks so much!    I'm wondering how bad could the gun handling be on the 252U.

Then I remember the Pz III K's gun handling and realize that it's possible to have some really bad gun handling.

Well, close encounters it is good because you are close, but the number of missed shots being close to laughable, and I run fully trained crews. Compare that to the IS-6 where you will always get a hit, but the poor pen values results in no pen, even when you aimed well. The IS-6 will hit the longer shots better, and almost always hit close range.

Of course my stats do not reflect this, lol, my 252u pulls 1% better on hits. But I got the IS-6 way too early for my experience, so the first numerous games I really sucked in it, so that skews the comparison a bit. But hell, 75% hit percent in the 252u is not bad, so maybe my perception is way, way off. Goodness, now I am confused, sorry to confuse you or anyone else. The 252u dmg ratio is .20 higher, and destruct ratio is 0.30 higher. Average dmg is 300 higher than the IS-6. The stats for me say the 252u all together is better, at least the way I play.

But if someone offered me the choice of either one, I would go with the 252u.
