Removal of gold compensation for owners of the completion reward tank was the start of the slide into irrelevancy for On Track events. The only thing noteworthy from them now is the discount high tier tanks.

lol This is all a joke, right?  Guys?  I mean, I'm laughing...but I'm still not sure if this was a joke.

Oh yeah, we're the joke...now I remember.

It's pretty funny how On-tracks used to give 3 pieces of (relevant) equipment and a tier 5-6 premium that was relevant to the line (Chi-Nu Kai for Japanese mediums, for instance) and now all we get are locusts (and now we've sunk even lower, to a T2 Light, literally the lowest, cheapest premium available) that has absolutely no relevance to the line that's on-track. I mean, even when it's easy like now... The USSR Mediums have LOADS of low tier prems that could've been given as a reward, but that would require some coding or something... So it's better to just keep it as a T2 Light.

Extremely disappointing. If you want people to participate in events, you should try making it worth their time. Just a thought. Personally, I'll be using the event to buy a 430 II and then shelving it for a few months.

Before that On Tracks used to give a credit boost to the entire line.  The lower tier tanks up to around tier 6 would give a 50% credit boost and the rest would get 30%.

250,000 XP for a Tier 2 light tank that still can see Tier 4 tanks, at a Tier where everything else sees no higher than Tier 3, and gets clipped by 3-man Platoons of M2 Lights running around spamming APCR? Sounds great to me!

On tracks used to be exciting. Tier 5-6 Premium tanks were given out. Now, it's just Tier 2 light tanks that everybody already owns, or nobody really wants.

I do love the K-91, so the other bonuses are still cool, but it used to be a lot better. No, I'm not greedy... :harp:

I concur.

They are "tanking" this game on purpose, because they have something else they want to start.  The sooner this game is done, the sooner they can start the other one.  Think about it, it doesn't make sense but yet it does make sense.

Because the ship has probably sailed for us receiving tier 4 or 5 premium tanks as a reward for "On-Tracks," I use On-Tracks for other purposes:

1. Free Garage Slot

2. Large discount on tier 9 and 10 tanks

3. Training my tier 9 or 10 tanks

Now I probably have more garage slots than I'll ever use at this point, not everyone does, and the discounts on tier 9 and 10 tanks are rather substantial.

Further, beyond crew training weekends, On-Tracks are far and away the best way to power grind a crew.

Spoiler

I've done On-Track crew training with:

  • M46 & M48 Pattons during the M48 On-Track,
  • T-54 during the T-62A On-Track,
  • Obj 140 during the Obj 140 On-Track,
  • T95 during the E3 On-Track,
  • T10 during Obj 277 On-Track,
  • Skoda T25, Skoda T50, & TVP 50/51 during the TVP On-Track,
  • Conqueror & FV215B during the FV215b On-Track, and
  • Tortoise during the FV215b (183) On-Track.

That's not to mention I've also gained the FV215b and FV215b(183) as reward tanks as well because those On-Tracks were thoughtfully run by WGNA before those tanks were taken out of the tech tree. If you aren't aware, moogleslam does a great job predicting what tanks are up and coming.  Here's his most recent prediction: On-Track Predictions: October & Beyond! It wouldn't surprise me if WGNA uses his thread to help decide what tanks they'll place On-Track though they do pick some random tanks occasionally.

Spoiler

Because of these, I've saved millions in credits, have really, really good crews in each tank listed, and have two "training" tier X tanks.

TL: DR - In short, On-Tracks are what you make of them at this point.  I highly suggest reading moogleslam's reddit thread, grinding up and unlocking a tier 9 that you have your eye on, but don't buy it yet, and then buy it, train it, and unlock/buy the tier X once that particular tank goes On-Track.  It'll produce a better crew(s), cost less, and provide free equipment.  You just have to have some foresight and planning ahead of time.

I'm fairly sure they only use my reddit series to prove me wrong, but thanks for the shoutout :)

Next one will be up as soon as they post the October Overview.

Anytime, you've done a lot of work with those predictions and they've helped make my WoT playtime extremely productive.

250k xp for 320,000 credits. Is it worth it?

250k xp = about 250 games

1 game at tier 10 = -30,000 credits (unless you want to bounce off Type 5, Maus, 268 4, 430U, 907, E3 all day)

250 x -30,000 = -7,500,000 credits

TL;DR

spend millions of credits to make a few hundred thousand

the T2 light DOES NOT see tier 4 any more. Trust me, i've played enough since the change to know. Have been ranked #1 on server in it a couple times.
