Disclaimer: I'll be adding/updating this in versions.  Feel free to make comments and I can incorporate tanks that I've forgotten.

Tankers frequently ask what tanks are best for tournaments and to my knowledge no current, up to date, list exists.  Here's what I know from experience to be the best tanks by tier for tournaments.  In general, 1v1's favor heaviums or mediums because they have higher hitpoint totals and better armor with good guns as well as decent mobility (Type 4 is not a good tank for 1v1's while the WZ-111-1-4 or M46 Patton are).  Light tanks can be argued for in anything as small as 2v2 teams and are almost a necessity once you get to 5v5 teams or larger, depending on the map and tier.  Autoloaders at higher tiers can also be great if played in teams.  Open maps favor mobility and city maps favor brawlers with armor.

EDIT: Had to split the list because the tank class symbols are making me go over an embedded image limit per post.

They’re not by any stretch of the imagination but if WG hosts heavy only 1v1s like they have in the past, they’re the best heavies at tier 4 (there's not a ton of competition).

That reminds me though, I forgot the maltida and hetzer.

Looking at the Locust's stats, I'm not sure I'd ever bring it over the ones already listed at tier 3.  Does it have an attribute I'm missing?  Its dpm and damage per shot are both low.  It's quick at least.

Ke-Ho, you and I have talked about previously.  I'm glad you reminded me.  It's a good overall mobile glass cannon.  I'll definitely add that.

I always use locust in 1v1s in the past.

maybe its my view range I like so much.

base -337

My crew - 356

With binos - 444

Add cola and a directive - 469

78 pen with a <2 sec reload

Only time I every lost was to a derp gun, however if they miss or cannot spot me it's easy win.

This is what I'm seeing when I compare these two tanks in a 1v1 setting.  I'm going to look at more tier III tanks to see if the Locust is the best, mobile, glass cannon for that tier.  For me personally, I prefer the T-127 for a couple reasons.

#1 It's a premium so I can bring my extremely well trained tier 9 or tier 10 light tank crew into it.

#2 It has such good side and turret armor, you can get a few shots to bounce even if someone is firing gold ammo.  A few bounces makes a huge difference in 1v1 engagements.

It does have 10 less m of view range so there is that.  But with a 4+ crew, it's less of an issue.  Especially if that tier 9/10 light tank crew has camo.

Speed then really is the only major difference.  64 vs 38 kph, with pw/wt of 28 vs 20.

PErsonally I think that the Teir 7 Fv201 has agreat rate of fire but does squat in damage output
