So I finally have gotten back around to tanks again after a bit of a break, and see that they finally gave some love to the Preferential Matchmaking tanks, and one in particular that I have, the Super Pershing. Curious what others think of the changes, but personally I'm absolutely loving them. First match I got post-update - https://gyazo.com/d1...a6d13fbba1fbead

3.1K damage, 1,700 spotting/assisted, 1,200 damage blocked.

Not bad for having not done much with tanks lately. Changes make it feel much smoother to play, slightly trollier armor, and my God... The mobility on flat terrain and downhill are so much better! I can actually get around the map more effectively, especially late game trying to chase down the remaining enemies. I'm able to even slightly more effectively climb little slopes and hills, rather than plodding up them as slowly as a Jap heavy.

What does everyone else think of the changes to the Super P, and heck how about some of the other Pref MM tanks?

I actually purchased one yesterday after reading all the hype. After a dozen or so games using a pimped out crew from my easy8....all I can say is WOW!

Just did my 2nd game, 2,800 damage, and only because my support died off. It's definitely a farcry from what it was before, and it's totally worth it. I used to be good with it before, but I'm doing amazing with it now. Was generally top 5 - 10 in the ratings for Super P's, got 2 marks too. After this though, I think I'll be able to maintain even better than I was prior.

It looks like to me that some were given lots of love and some were given a token stale candybar!

Once again War Shaming not only has preferential match making but preferential balancing as well!

True. I've got the IS-6B, and it still sucks, but just a bit less. But hey, I can't complain about my beautiful Super Pershing at least! Better to get some buffs to all of them and not all being perfect still rather than them all collecting dust in the priorities list of issues for WG to fix.

All they did was bring it a bit closer the the pre nerf specs around 2014 - 15 .

Other than being slow I didn't think there was anything wrong with it before the latest buffs. Have not played it yet but anything being improved can only make it better.

There is a cherry picked vid on YouTube for that tank. They were claiming how great it is after the buffs, but they were high tier and all the reds conveniently showed perfect side shots through the whole game, peekabooming totally wrong. He didn't have to face one single red heavy sidescraping in the whole vid.

That was the main issue. Others I think were mainly that it's pen was outdated, and the armor was getting flimsy in comparison to newer tanks that have much higher penetration than a lot of the older tanks, and therefore could more readily pen the armor without aiming for a weakspot.

out of all the tanks they buffed, the SP is easily the best of them all now.

now has roughly the same apcr pen as a patriot, which is what..like 7 less than the m46 patton?  lul

The sad part about this is that they've further powercreeped the tech tree Pershing.

The Super Pershing now has more penetration and better DPM than the tech tree Pershing, as well as better hull armor, turret armor that's at least as effective if no more so (the mantlet on the tech tree Pershing may be better but the overall frontal turret of the Super Pershing will be much better) and now it has decent mobility too?

RIP tech tree Pershing. Forgotten but not gone.

Anytime they update any tank or set of tanks, it further powercreeps the ones left behind. Eventually they should get around to it though. Honestly most of the American lines needs an update though. Just look at the Hellcat and T25/2. Hellcat is alright, mostly as long as it shoots at soft targets, but the pen is the lowest for tier VI, and only the Jagdpanzer IV is lower (another tank that needs help). T25/2 has relatively no armor, meh mobility, and gains a whopping +10 pen compared to it's predecessor, which it gets to try to painfully grind through with. Most American mediums don't see tons of gameplay anymore. The heavies aren't even that great - The T32 is literally just the T29 with some better hull and turret armor.

My SP is now so OP that I only logged into play it once, didn't actually shoot anyone, got disconnected and STILL won the match

The T25/2 shouldn't even be in the game. It's a completely fictional vehicle. The entire turreted TD route is a mess. So is the medium tree for that matter. Both trees are so full of fake or ahistorically-equipped vehicles when they don't need to be that it's actually sad.

As for the Hellcat, the nerfs were ridiculous and need to be reversed because Wargaming just went on to apply the same principles they condemned in the Hellcat to the Skorpion and the upcoming Soviet turreted TD. High mobility, good gun, turret. They smacked the crap out of the Hellcat, now it's getting powercreeped on too. We're to the point where we have numerous equal-tier vehicles that will 1-shot it. That's ridiculous. The reverse speed and general mobility buffs were uncalled for at the time but even more so in the present mid-tier game environment. One could make the argument that the M36 is actually the better vehicle at tier VI now, even though it's played far less.

They may have increased the pen but did nothing for the armor

Power creep is also about increased armor and not just about the pen
