The difference between 55%and 45% is pretty big.   Just think of the difference between a 45% and 55% player.  As far as sample size, especially with vbaddict's sampling issues, I'd prefer at least 5k battles, but even at 1k it should be reasonable reliable.

Have played it 4 times. South spawn won 3 of them.

Finally played one battle on the map, south spawn, won. Fun game though. They camped way too much, they sent just a few to the NW area, and arty pounded them as did the other tanks, as that front folded, their campers were spotted and of course it was downhill from there. The city held fine, but did not progress really until their heavies started to break off to defend base, thus caught in the open.

Over a thousand, five thousand game maybe, just depends what we all agree on being "pretty big". But understand your point, lol.

I mean there was no change if you saw the supertest photos. You can tell its going to be unbalanced from the get go anyway

the locations changed, people are learning them. south now needs to defend from the south side of the cut instead of moving up to the highway proper. you also need spotters on multiple tiers along the highway to spot incoming tanks, not just toward the water. the new leveled areas screw up defense badly, so back camping is the order of the day.

It will take about 6 months for them to analyze the data. Then they will add a bush.

What did they do?  I definitely think the north spawn has the advantage now.  What was the problem before, south spawn advantage?  Seriously though, what are TDs supposed to do now in this map, esp. from south spawn?:confused:

Please stop whining about perceived imbalances in maps. We need more maps, balanced or not. We don't need more mirror maps. They are boring. Be happy when you are on your imagined advantageous side of the map. We lost many good maps because of whiners who thought it wasn't fair.

 

Skill imbalance counts for more than map imbalance.

Yep.

 

Map design does not ruin maps. The incessant whining and cult of oppression that snowflakes seem to suffer from is what ruins maps.

Maybe south is actually the best side, and wargaming puts the most garbage teams there in the hopes they will get a leg up, but they still fail anyway cause they suck.

I've won from the south every time but once, and from the north every time but once (3-1 on both sides).  I do think the north has a slight advantage at start, but if the south plays the east even halfway correctly, they also then have an advantage after winning it.

 

I think it's more MM/team composition dependent than it used to be.

Finally played from the South last night twice. Both times lost though team deployment was an issue.

The problem right now is the classic spots to meet are no longer where teams should try to encounter each other. North does have an advantage on the West if South tries to engage where they used to. I’m not sure where South needs to pick its spot but it’s closer to the spawn than it used to be.

North wins a lot more for me too, but I think that's a symptom of too much camping on the NA server.  The map is not good for camping from the south.  Any halfway aggressive team can take the A1 corner from the south, but I rarely see any teams being aggressive from the south into that corner.

 

I bet on the russian server where players are supposedly more aggressive almost to the point of yolo, the south wins more often.  That A1 corner can be taken from the south with an aggressive push.  The south seems to be advantageous for aggressive teams.

 

...gawd, I hate campers.

In the interim period I've played it more and come around to a different way of thinking on it. Instead of staying South, the South team needs to push quickly up into A1 corner. If they can get there, then they can make it really difficult on north spawn from a (usually) safe position.
