There are missions to block 2x, 4x or 5x your tank's hit points for 2, 3, 4 games, which is rather painful with premium ammo spam but that is what it is. What is truly annoying is being spammed with HE and even though the round has potential damage of 1,100 and only does 293, you get no credit.  Even if the HE round does no damage, you don't get credit. The mission should be changed to reflect potential damage instead of only blocked. If necessary the multiplier can be adjusted to account for the change but the change should be made.

Completely agree.  It’s annoying as heck when I fire HE at someone and it bounces.  They should at least get credit for the blocked damage if I’m not getting any damage out of it.

I'm not sure it's the mission that's the issue but the fact that blocked HE shell doesn't get counted as blocked damage.

I don't know why that's not already counted in the game, it's logical and right in line with blocking damage.  But then I guess that'd be the logical choice

Prem rounds and HE are pretty much the only reasons I don't really play heavies anymore... I can't tell you how many times someone has shot gold at me and bounced and then just switched to HE. It's especially dumb when it's a TD with a 150-155 mm gun hitting you with HE for 350 damage a shot since there is basically no counter to it at all. Armor is so useless at this point it's stupid, even if you angle it perfectly and can bounce prem ammo, HE is there. They could at least give you some sort of compensation for having to deal with such a dumb mechanic.

Exactly the point of this thread. Potential damage should count for the missions, not the missions per se.

yeah same with your track absorbing a shot...didn't do damage but you get no credit for it...those missions are annoying as hell

That one makes sense sometimes; like if someone hits the bottom part of your track, like the part touching the ground. At that point, if your track wasn't there it would've just hit the ground, so you did not really block it as much as the enemy just missed your hull.

I got busy this weekend but was going to do a post on getting HE to count towards blocked damage.  Nothing worse than seeing that Japanese heavy or 3 arty on an open map and not getting credit for bouncing/blocking those shells.  I got all of the equipment missions done but it took me much longer for the heavy one.  Thank goodness they didn't change the original 1 & 2 missions until later (making it heavy only).

 

I don't really like missions that much anymore.  Most of them require some degree of selfishness that does not promote winning (ex. sitting in a bush until that 4th tank is spotted before you can move).  I'm glad I'm done with them and only use some to help with grinds and crew skills boosts.

Blocked damage is a crap stat anyway.  If you angle your armor just enough that it stops the shell, it is blocked damage.  If you angle it enough that the shell ricochets, no blocked damage.

I suspected that any useful suggestion would attract you to a thread.  WG has been profligate in creating HE spaming tanks from the high pen HE round on the Ru251/M41 90, to hesh flinging tanks, to japanese derps.  Before all these tanks existed the missions were hard to do, which was fine, but now the difficulty level has increased substantially.  I don't think WG truly understands the impact HE spam has had on the ability to complete missions.   I understand you don't realize this because you rarely play the game, don't really play well and don't do personal missions. Those who do these things or even just two of the three understand the problem created by HE spam.   

 

Whether your constant whining about any suggest which may make the game better is done out of ignorance, spitefulness or both, doesn't matter. Your uselessness is just as apparent.

I have to admit, you provide very little in the way of positive commentary -- ever.  It is extremely disappointing to see such a regularly negativized and usually snarky series of comments.  It brings very little to the table in terms of advancing ANY discussion in which you enter and serves to derail more than it does any other thing.

 

 

Your response in this thread is completely off the mark, by the way.  No-one is asking for the mission to be easier, just to have some damage that currently isn't being counted -- you know -- get counted in a more logical and, I suppose, fair, fashion.  How that translates into someone's "Whine" making is beyond my view, I guess.  Maybe you could, just once in a while to surprise us all, ADD something to the conversation instead of detract from it?

I actually did not know this.  I'm sitting in battle last week and I'm block non-HE shots left and right - seeing 750+ signs flash all over the place and at the end of it I barely had 350 blocked damage.  I just assumed it was a glitch and went on with my day.

In that case the HE round should do full damage instead of partial.
