I agree with what many others have already indicated. The game mode is pretty meh. The respawn function takes away the risk and excitement. The monotonous gathering of green matter (fart gas as Sahm Lockhart called it). quickly becomes boring. Coupled with the relatively small amount you can gather per round compared to the huge total you need to reach level 13, it is much more grindy than fun as a game mode. Better than nothing I guess, but it feels pretty lame compared to the memorable Leviathan event from last year.

Very disappointed.  I think last year's Tank Hollow 2 was so much better!  Dark Front has no reward tanks or gold or garage slots ... just credit and experience boosters that feel like slow grinding for little return.   And game play feels repetitive already and it's only my third day ... I don't see myself playing it too much more.

I just wish they would give us the option for the normal garage. I never play the special event modes, so no input there.

Exactly my thoughts. Cheers

Agree, bring back Tank Hollow and its rewards.

After playing for a few more days, I wanted to add to my previous comments. The 5 second reload is needlessly long for a small caliber gun and makes the fights tedious. The zombie tanks aim and move better than the average human. If I'm not mistaken they seem to aim even better when you are carrying a lot of green matter. They are not that hard to beat but in a 6 minute match slow and methodical tactics are counter productive. Wolf packs work half decently, but expecting that level of cooperation with random teammates is silly. The essence specials are pointless. Why spend time looking for them to get a boost for the last few minutes of a match? The game mode had potential, but as is it is just painfully boring. Feels like something thrown together at the last minute. I reached level 5 and got the weekly mission completed, so I'm done with this event. Good riddance.

yeah this Dark front is lame win xp that you have to pay you to convert (you trolled enough cash from me), you got the bot thing wrong it`s the last thing wot needs is more bots. The people that ok'd/made this game, do they even play?

The 15k Free XP for the weekly award, was very nice.  Got a T-20 in my garage that I wasn't going to put on the battlefield until I'd upgraded all it's modules including the top gun, that 15k Free XP reward did a great deal to help that project along!  If that reward is repeatable, I could see myself playing Dark Front long enough to pick up the camo at the end.

Everything works more or less as advertised so I'm not going to raise a stink over it. However there were some implications raised that could become important elsewhere.

For one, the anomalies that increase speed don't seem to actually make you any faster, they just make the tank skid and slide all over the pace. We saw a similar effect back during the Chaffee races some time ago, if you put in a 50% driver you went just as fast but with much better control. For their respective events this phenomenon was of little concern, but now that wheeled vehicles are becoming a thing its worth looking into. If their speed advantage really just means doing accidental donuts all over the place, then this could be a problem.

The other is the vague possibility of PVE content in the future. And there are ways to do this productively. Using PVE for instance to solve the problems of historical battles- not enough players willing to play as the cannon fodder, or teams having severely lopsided numbers, et cetera. And as of concerns that a regular PVE mode would threaten the random queue, I'll simply say this. If what is essentially glorified target practice against bots is more appealing than the randoms, then the randoms have severe problems either way.

got the weekly award for the XP and haven't bothered to play since - as many have said it gets boring fast

this mode IS, however A LOT better than soccer

I would rather see WG work on the regular game modes instead of these one offs - where's Frontline?

After the first micro patch for this mode, it reboots my computer. WG check indicates nothing.

Deleted, removed, reinstalled, mod free, boom! Reboot in Garage every single time.

780TI, 32 Gig of RAM, AMD 9500 series FX processor, 8 core. Win 7, 64 bit, latest patches, latest NVIDIA driver.

Fallout 4, heavily modded, no problems.

Men of War 2, no problems.

Digital Combat Systems (which is WAY more intensive graphics and CPU wise than WoT) no problems.

Battle of Stalingrad (BoS) no problems.

But, will get those responses "must be your machine, mine runs fine" - lol, they flock to posts like this, even though 4 other high end graphics games have (wait for it) no problems.

I think my next step will be to add Aslains and remove the event garage, I think this is what is causing the reboot . . . if a mod will let me remove it for this go round.

Update - using Aslain's and swapping out for a "stock" garage has stopped the problem.

I have experienced this before with event garages, but mostly in WoWs - only one other time with WoT, years ago, I think it was the Halloween one also. Even after the event was over, with standard garage, I would hear the ghosts wailing in the background of the stock garage for months after.

For what it is worth.

Each game has same map, same green spots, same enemy bot positions ... got bored real fast so quit playing it a few days ago.   Now, random games are taking much longer to start (tiers 4-6).  Having to wait over a minute for each game.   Is WG doing it on purpose to force players to Dark Front?

Would be better if opposing sides were both populated by players rather than making a PVE mode. The biggest problem with any PVE game is that when you have objectives and/or enemies that spawn in the same place every time it quickly becomes repetitive and boring. This mode is basically Pac-Man with tanks – one simply needs to find a pattern that works and then rinse repeat. Which would be fine I guess if the rewards for participating could be obtained with a few games. But that isn’t the case here.

The incremental level requirements and the locked daily maximum are a disincentive. Getting bonuses that translate to the main game is a great idea, but obtaining them shouldn’t take an excessive amount of time so that you can actually take advantage of them in the main game. The last level requires collection of 4,200 globs. At 150 to 200 globs per 6-minute game you’re looking at 2 to 3 hours to complete to the last daily level for a bonus that only lasts till the end of the day. How many players are going to be able to play 3 plus hours and utilize that to advance in the main game?

Dark Front is BAD. I have to play a lot of matches to progress. And then I realize, what bonus am I getting?  Some free XP but no credit boost, no XP boost? And to get a SINGLE CAMO, it's going to take me WHAT? 100 matches? x 10 minutes?  NO THANKS. I wasted my time for boosts that don't exist.
