hi,

So I'm debating whether to use my experience to research the E75 vs the Emil 1.

I enjoy playing my Lowe.... does the E75 play differently or offer a different game experience?

I also enjoy my Strv 42 but hated the Leo.

what are your thoughts?

thanks

The E-75 is completely different from the Lowe. While the Lowe could hull-down very effectively, the E-75 can't. E-75's turret armor is still decent, but it's flat, which mean it's very easy to penetrate by higher-pen shells. E-75 offers something very special though, which is great hull armor on a surprisingly mobile platform. Combine that with its 128mm with 490 alpha, and it becomes a great brawling / side-scraping heavy tank.

As far as the Emil 1, it's a decent tank, but nothing special. Its autoloading / hull-down playstyle isn't nearly as good as the Emil II's playstyle at Tier 9. Emil 1's worth getting, but only to grind to the Emil II.

^^ THIS ^^

The E75 is a brawl monster, but it has to side scrape.  Lowe just parks behind a low berm or rubble and bounces everything you throw.  It's a Noob-friendly Heavy.  E75 takes more finesse, but is ultimately a far better tank.  I prefer it over the E100 by miles.

It depends on which playstyle you are more interested in pursuing right now: autoloading hull down heavy or brawling/high alpha/ low dpm heavy.

E75 has a lot more flexibility whereas with the Emil it doesn't brawl well and you have to hope that you can control the pace of the engagement, which is going to happen damn seldom with a Tier-8 tank.

In the long run the Swedish T10 is better than the E100 so you have to get used to the play style sometime, particularly if the Emil is going to be your first auto-loader.

The E75 was a struggle for me.  Once I got the E100 I sold the E75.  I don't think the E75 is a bad tank, I just couldn't drive it well.  I come against some E75 players who know how to shift angles and shoot for weak spots and they are high scorers.  With the Emil, I ground up to the Emil II and got tired of the losing streaks I was experiencing.  I sold the Emil II and went to the Swedish tier six medium and that was a disaster. Bought back the Emil I and am trying again.  Except for the Grand Battles, I am usually low tier going against the tier tens. Come to think of it, that is how it seemed with the Emil II.  Even at tier nine the Emil II has such a thin hull, I have to go with a group and back them up.

I went all the way up to the Kranvagn when it first came out, great tank when it had the turret of invulnerability since it was new.  But with the current meta of HE, HESH and up to three arty I would go E75.  As mentioned the Emil and higher have such thin hull armor that it gets really frustrating, since now even hull down HE, HESH and Arty just bash the tank to death.
