Usually every Christmas season, Wargamming (WG) gives everyone a low tier tank for people who play World of Tanks. I am not sure what they will do for this holiday season but here is a list of tanks that I hope Santa will put into my stocking.

BTW, all of these tanks are unique to the game. They would be premium tanks and are based on real world statistics. I have put in some WOT statistics from other tanks that have a similar item with it. Such as the US 37mm M5 gun on the Chinese M2A4 tank which you see a lot on various WOT tanks.

CHINA M2A4 (tier 2 light tank) -> unlike most of the Chinese tanks in the game which are fake, the Chinese acquired a whole bunch of these from the Americans in 1943

                              M2A4                      WOT US M2              WOT UK M2

* Tier                     2                                 2                              2

CZECHOSLOVAKIA LT vz.34 (tier 2 light tank) -> a direct predecessor to the LT vz.35

FRANCE ACG-1 (tier 3 light tank) -> this setup is actually for the Belgian version in which they received 12 copies from the French in 1937. The Belgian version is an uprated version compared to the stock French ACG-1. For example, the Belgians used a 13.2mm heavy machine gun on a hull mount compared with the French stock 7.5mm light machine gun. And yes, the French actually had fast light pre-war tanks (unlike what you see in WOT).

GERMANY 105 leFH 39H(f) (tier 3 SPG) -> funny enough, the Germans do not have a premium SPG tank. In 1942, the Germans introduced the "10.5cm leFH 18M L/28 (Sf) auf Gw 39H(f)" which was a tank converted from 48 ex-French Hotchkiss H-39 light tanks. Here is a link with what it looks like ->

ITALY L3/35 (tier 2 light tank) -> this tankette is the most iconic pre-war tank in the Italian army. It came with a variety of weapons but their export version to Brazil makes the most sense in this game.

SWEDEN BT-42 (tier 4 light tank) -> this is the Finnish version of the Soviet BT-7 Art (or BT-7A) light tank. I put this in the Swedish tech tree rather than the German because of the close relationship the Swedes and Finns have had for hundreds of years. The gun used on the BT-42 comes from a British howitzer that is also used in the game.

I hope they have not scrapped (remember all the T-29 debacle) the free new year tank tradition, despite the running joke of "free garage slots" those low tiers are good crew trainers, even if you cant train all your crewmembers on any single one.

Also something else than Russian or US light tanks would be very welcomed.

Only low tier I can think has been tested lately and could be a gift tank was that german export medium prototype (added as light tank in game)

Wow, certainly looking pretty far in advance, given that the usually highly anticipated Black Friday and Christmas events would come before this.

For my vote, I picked the French ACG-1 because IMO, the French line needs a low tier premium light tank and has for sometime, especially when the current French low tiers are slugs.

Also voted for the Japanese Type 3 Ke-Ri because this line needs some love in the low tiers.

Lastly, what would truly be a gift IMO is of the T-50-2 made a return to the game.  Either a tech tree or premium tank, it would be most welcome to return to my garage and the slot that has remained empty ever since it was taken away...

Given the trashy stats of the free tanks I'd rather have a free set of camo. Modest but at least I'd have a use for it.

Are any of these wheeled vehicle? Since they announced that wheeled vehicles are coming to WOT it would make sense for them to give a T2 Wheeled premium.

I think the German 105 leFH 39H(f) would be a WONDERFUL Holiday gift!  Even better if it could shoot lumps of coal to ALL the little arty-haters out there!

BT-42! Although I'd actually buy that if they released it. But free is good too.

105 leFH 39H(f): Yes please. Even if none of us ever use it, it will make all the SPG whiners/haters get their panties in a wad, and that is a great Christmas gift for all the rest of us!

Would be nice to see more low tier freebies for France and China, two nations that have been in the game for over 5 years. Although I do have some suggestions for some of the other vehicles you listed.

L3/35: I don't see this being all that great, with only having a heavy machine gun mounted in a casemate would make it much more of a challenge to use compared to the T7CC and LT Mk.VIc. Instead, we could use the M11/39, which would play more like the TKS, but with a 37mm gun similar to what comes stock on the Italian tier 2s instead of an autocannon.

Type 3 Ke-Ri: This tank would pretty much be just like the Ha-Go at tier 2 when you use the 57mm gun, just with a different turret. Would be better served as a tier 2 rather than tier 3, and maybe WG could finally release the Ke-Ni Otsu which has been in development limbo for years.

9TP: For it to work at tier 3, they would have to give the gun similar stats to what the Strv m/40 has with its 37mm guns. Probably better at tier 2 along with an improvement of the 37mm gun used on Polish tanks.

ZiS-30: Gun is too much for tier 2, would be better served at tier 3, similar to SU-76 at that tier.

Harry Hopkins: The development history of this tank lends itself to being in the UK tech tree as a tier 4 light, along with a researchable Tetrarch preceding it. Could instead have as a counterpoint to the M11/39, a captured M13/40 at tier 2, maybe even have a unique livery to give it proper markings when operated by Australian forces, similar to what we got with the T-34S and its Kursk scheme.

I believe that all of the tanks on this list would make great christmas gifts... EXCEPT that tier 3 arty with the 10.5 cm gun (remember the old su-26?)

Hmm...seems to be the most wanted tank there!

Here is my reply to the above comments (and they are good ones too, thanks)

@ durandal78 -> I like the T-29 a lot because the gun is a 76mm L-10A which is a modified field gun. So I mainly use the HE rounds when using this tank and it works out really good.

@ But_she_said... -> "they better not give that SPG, already enough out there" ->  the Germans, the Americans and the Russians do not have any premium SPGs. The British have the Tier 3 Sexton and the French have the Tier 5 105 leFH18B2. Actually the 105 leFH18B2 is a German tank in which they modified 16 ex-French Char B1 heavy tanks by mounting 10,5cm leFH 18/3 howitzer onto it. So I think that the German SPG, that I mentioned at tier 3, is very similar spec-wise to the Tier 3 Wespe SPG. And remember WG only allows a maximum of 3 SPGs per battle so every battle at tier 3, 4 and 5 would not be overwhelmed by 6 or 8 105mm leFH18(f) tanks in every time you play.

@ Altwar -> "For my vote, I picked the French ACG-1 because IMO, the French line needs a low tier premium light tank and has for sometime, especially when the current French low tiers are slugs. Also voted for the Japanese Type 3 Ke-Ri because this line needs some love in the low tiers" -> I AGREE!!!

IN WOT. the French low tier tanks are slow slugs which is weird considering that had true fast scout tanks before the war and yet WG does not include them into the game.  They owned the AMR 35 (200+ tanks) which mounted a 25mm anti-tank gun and had a top speed of 55 kph. They had the AMC 34 (72 tanks), which mounted either a 25mm anti-tank gun or a 47mm tank gun and had a top speed of 40 kph. They had the AMC 35 (200 tanks), which had the same armament as the AMC 34 but better armor. And yet we have to endure with the H35, R35, AMX 38 and the FCM36. Plus also the 100% fake tank destroyer, the FT AC, which was never used or built. Yet the French had 10 tank destroyers that were built in 1935 and used against the Germans called the "AMR 35 ZT3". It mounted a 25mm anti-tank gun (just like the FT AC) and had a top speed of 55 kph.

I picked the Ke-Ri because it was the natural compliment to the Ha-Go. And to be honest, WG keeps coming out with American, Soviet and German tanks so I agree that we need more loving for tanks for other nations than the usual tech tree.

@ Yankee 137 -> "Given the trashy stats of the free tanks I'd rather have a free set of camo. Modest but at least I'd have a use for it." -> A lot of us love free tanks whether they are any good or not. And you can always sell the tank and use the cash to buy a new camo net or a new garage slot.

@ Youdda -> "Are any of these wheeled vehicle? Since they announced that wheeled vehicles are coming to WOT it would make sense for them to give a T2 Wheeled premium." -> Nope. The Christie T3 is an early tank that could either use tracks or wheels to move along the ground. It was an early version of the Soviet BT-series which copied it.

Here is a good look and information on the US Christie T3 tank -> http://www.wardrawin...Christie/T3.htm

As far as wheeled tanks go, WG has announced a future released of a French wheeled vehicle so I expect more to come from that area.

@ Mojo-Riesing -> "I think the German 105 leFH 39H(f) would be a WONDERFUL Holiday gift! " -> Me too.

@ RC_1140 -> "BT-42! Although I'd actually buy that if they released it. But free is good too. " -> in real life, the BT-42 was garbage but in WOT garbage is gold and gold is garbage. Look at the Tiger I and Panther. Two really good tanks in real life but mediocre (at best) in WOT. I love my BT-7A tank and I expect that the BT-42 would be used in the same way too with that wonderful derp gun!!!

@ Yao_Wang -> "Ok i have to point this out the Chinese Tech Tree is not fake the Chinese tier 1 2 3 4 are real lights they are from France(bought), Britain(bought), Japan(captured), America(Lend Lease) the Chinese tier 5-10 Lights, Mediums, Heavies are 1.Russian gifts/bought 2.copies/modernization now the tank destroyer line R concept tanks of what Chinese tank destroyers would have been" ->

Tier 1 NC-31 -> The Chinese never had these tanks. Their first tanks were acquired by the Chinese warlord, Zhang Zuolin, right after WW1 ended. And these tanks were Renault FTs. Manchuria acquired 12 more FTs in 1924 and 1925. More FTs followed but no NC-31s which was a tank very different than the FT.

Other tanks that the Chinese used -> Vickers 6-ton tanks (true), Chi-Ha (captured from Japan), M5A1 Stuart (bought from US), Type 64 (used only in Taiwan), Type T-34 (bought from USSR), Type 59, WZ-120, IS-2, Type 62, Type 58

Tanks never built or used -> 59-16 (project tank), WZ-131 (project), WZ-132 (project), WZ-132A (project), WZ-132-1 (never built); T-34-1 (never built), T-34-2 (project), 59-Patton (project), T-34-3 (project), 121 (project), 121B (project), WZ-111 (project), 110 (project), 112 (project), WZ-111 1-4 (project), 113 (project), WZ-111 5A (project)

Tank Destroyers -> T-26G FT -> only 2 were ever built. The rest of the tank destroyer line exist only in drawings and blueprints.

With so many project tanks it is a shame that WG doesn't actually come out with tanks that the Chinese used. Here are some others that should be in the game for the Chinese -> M2A4, M3A3, M24, PzKpfw I, T-26, Type 69, Type 79

So overall, the Chinese tech tree has a lot of fake tanks

@ DerWeasel7 -> L3/35 -> I chose the L3/35 over the M11/39 for three reasons. 1) WG released the Polish TKS tankette so an Italian tankette would be ok to have since the precedent was just set to have these kind of vehicles. 2) In case there is a medium tank line introduced for the Italians, the M11/39 is a logical choice in a medium tech tree since they were the first Italian medium tanks. And the prototype and production versions mounted different weapons, it would be a natural tier 2 medium tank. 3) The L3/35, if the 13mm heavy machine gun is set up properly, could be an ok tank at tier 2. I don't expect great things if it is in the game but I would envision it to be a really good sneaky light tank/scout,

Type 3 Ke-Ri -> I agree

9TP -> I put this at tier 3 only because it is an improved tier 2 7TP and the stats are similar to the Tier 3 10TP.

ZiS-30 -> Looking at what you said, the tank needs to be at a higher tier than what I gave it. The tank would be OP at tier 2 even though its speed, armor, etc is garbage. That 57mm ZIS-2 gun would be too much for any tank at tier 2 but since it would be a Soviet tank in WOT, WG just might leave it as Tier 2.

Harry Hopkins -> I think this tank would have a hard time at tier 4 because its speed, etc is not very good. It's basically an uparmored Tier 2 Tetrarch so I can't see it really being successful in Tier 6 battles if put at tier 4.

@ EckkzD -> "I believe that all of the tanks on this list would make great christmas gifts... EXCEPT that tier 3 arty with the 10.5 cm gun (remember the old su-26?)" -> Maybe the German SPG could be at Tier 4 instead only because it is really could be considered the younger brother of the French 105 leFH 18B2 (which in real life is a German tank). But the Germans really need a premium SPG since a lot of people play German SPGs. The same with the American and Soviet  tech tree that have a lot of SPGs but no premium SPGs.
The SPG that I am proposing uses the same gun and statistically similar to the Tier 3 Wespe. Remember that every battle in WOT has a maximum of 3 SPGs so you would not see 6 or 8 of these tanks in a battle like you would see other tanks.

Thanks again for the comments.

ACG-1 please. Time for a French gift tank. Please no more Soviet lights, far too many already.

BT-42 would be great too.

How bout the Obj 907 for any who have been subscribers for over five or six months in a row ! How bout that !!!! Then you'd see it nerfed into oblivion like the T-22 most likely.

  How bout some killer British premium light tanks like the Scimitar, AJAX scout, or armored cars.

  How bout some Polish mediums. They got the East German T-55A  Why not the T-55AM for the Poles as a gift for Xmas ?

  How bout some American wheeled or tracked light armored scouts which there are plenty to choose from.

  IMHO we have more than enough Russian OP'd tanks. Expand some other tech lines before going back to the Russians.

  Anyway not anymore worthless under powered tanks to sit in the garage. Show some subscribers some appreciation for Xmas ! Instead of the usual snub the NA subscribers get every year. But WG's, I guess are still wondering why they're hemorrhaging people.
