If the people giving in-game advice come across as pushy, people get their back up and refuse to listen "just because".  I'm always willing to listen to advice if it sounds like it's solid.  The catch for me, and many others I would think, is that without XVM or another mod that shows colours or stats, I have no way of knowing whether you're Deep Purple (Smoke on the Water baby!), or Deep Red (got nothing for that one).

Ah well, I realize I'm not the best, but to quote (well semi-quote), Bret "The Hitman" Hart:

"I'm not the best there is, I'm not the best there was, and I'll never be the best there ever will be"

Cheers!

There are no bad players, only great players that have been let down by their teammates over and over... :(

(Had a 46% explain to us that he was one of the best players on the server - he was in the beta, after all - but it was impossible for the top players to keep their stats up after playing as many battles as he had.)

This community is so toxic because bad players don't want to listen to good players

That happens in every game, nothing unusual here.

Sadly its not just bad players that don't listen.

I tried telling two camping TDs on the Prok hill that there was nothing left for them to shoot at. The middle had been cleared, and I had made a full sweep of the hill side of the map and nothing was left. I asked them to move up to the center ridge so they could shoot stuff as I lit it up. But no, they would not budge one inch. I was not rude or insulting in anyway, and I asked in extremely brief and clear terms. Why did they not listen? Why did they not even realize what was going on?  I have not idea, I just assumed they were baddies at the time.

I checked their stats after the game and was surprised they were both above average players. Go figure.

Lately most of the clear advises i received were to peak my nose to lurking red TDs

And such alts should banned immediately,  as if they're afraid of being banned, they know they are breaking the rules.

Who cares the point he was making is valid and WG's isn't going to ban anyone with a reroll account because it triggers the baddies either it's a non issue.

Well we all know this is not his main account.  While I know that what is saying happens, I have found it to be the other way around.  I have found way more so called good players yelling and screaming about how sorry everyone else is.

The reasons I do not listen to advice:

1 As someone else mentioned, it is usually given in a rude manor. Hey Moron , you are going the wrong way or whatever.

2 I have played a few games and I do not want to do the "right" thing this time. The maps have been rather boring until this recent addition of some new maps so I like to try new things for the fun of it. I might take my heavy off into the woods and snipe. That is what i find FUN at the moment.

3 I have my own issues and I am told what to do at my day job. I do not want to be told what to do during my fun time in the game. Even if I am certain to die - I want to do what I want and not be told what to do!

I know that last one can be very aggravating to those who want to win and are concerned with there stats, but it is a reality that some people just do not care about doing it "right".

I happen to be one of those people.

BUT ... how do we know who the GOOD players are?  After all, most of the GOOD players don't want us to use XVM, so how can we tell?   I guess we just assume that you are a tomato giving direction?

Clan tags and how they play, that's how I usually tell who's not rolling their face on the keyboard

Who  says the person giving advice is a good player?

75% of players have no way of knowing whether the armchair general is just a crank or some self appointed pro.

Lots of players do not have chat turned on.

Lots, like myself, totally ignore 110% of babble from the peanut gallery, as there is zero credibility in the XVM stat system.  The supposed pro, is mathematically likely to be just an average joe with a re-roll account. An opinion is not really advice.

Watching this game, there is NO place where some class is supposed to go and shoot from. But always lots of "advice", that some players is in the imaginary wrong place.

Most of the angry advice seems not to came from any particular type or status of players. Almost all the advice does seem to came from destroyed players who blame through "tactical conversations ", why if the team had of just listened, he would not be dead.

What is needed in the vanilla client is some sort of "Captain" system, where the highest ranked 3 on a team have some sort of recognition. Not all, or even many would pay attention, but at least players would know if advice is worth paying attention to.

To start with, MAKE SURE you're good enough to give anyone advise.

Second, don't tie your message to a brick and throw it at them.  Guessing that just might have something to do with it.

You have set the playing field even, Its not. 3 types of players 1. I really don't care 2. I want to get gud 3.One tank to rule them all, now mix that with RNG and through in some MM and BAM! you have World of Spanks, Not to mention that its not an E sports game some its pointless. Just have fun its a game like Mario Cart or Dig Dug.  I used to be really into the game, but then I got a very good job, So the game is more relaxation then anything. Sometimes i like driving off cliffs or camping with my type 5 so what, yes people send hate mail, but hey at the end of the day the only one who matters is that name signed on the bottom of your paycheck, unless you still live with you parents then you wouldn't really know about that.
