Happy to be your 50th upvote! :)

I'm looking between the Dicker max and Krupp Steyr for a German TD crew trainer, and this helped me decide if i get one i should get the Krupp Steyr.

Wow! Just wow!  A definite +1.  Scorp, thanks for your hard work on putting this together so quickly.  With the 7 day window to purchase any of these one has time to ponder which (if any) to pick up.  Your post goes a long way towards whittling down the list.

The Krup-Steyr WT at only $11.99 looks particularly attractive to me (its play-style is right in my wheelhouse).  But it's Tier VII and I already have the M56 Scorpion (which is one tank I just love to play), so it seems like a duplication of effort.  And I have a bunch of tanks I rarely play due to some niggling issue (like slow speed that the K-R WT suffers).  That gives me pause.

Everything else I might consider is north of $30 in price and considering my dissatisfaction with the current state of the game I'm not ready to drop much cash into WG's coffers.

Thanks again for the time and effort you've put into this post.

So how is the Scorpion? i thought about getting one as a crew trainer but then i heard the T28 htc (campaign reward) is just as good?

Great write up.  The only 2 things i might have added would be a value factor for how many tanks you can use any given premium to train crews, and an experience factor.  For instance the iS6 is a great first tier 8 premium for a novice with 5-6k battles that just peaked into tier 8.  They can master fundamentals, and not see tier tens, as well as have 4 Russian heavy lines to chase.  I call it the "solid root, many branch, lots of fruit" value added effect.

I say IS-6 and T-34-3 are FAR better than the 59-Patton. No giant cupola, preferential MM, APCR instead of HEAT. No need for accuracy when you have the alpha to brawl.

In the IS-6, good luck fighting Defenders, VKPs, Mauschens, and Type 4’s with 225 APCR, which is expensive and still going to bounce most of the time anyways.  It’s still a mostly bad, inflexible tank - it’s just slightly less bad and inflexible than it used to be.  If you want a preferential MM heavy tank, the 112 is probably the best of the 390-alpha crowd right now.

The T-34-3 is reasonable after the buffs, but is still a less comfortable tank than the 59-Patton because of the differences in gun handling, dispersion, and gun depression.  The cupolas on the T-34-3 are still vulnerable.  Yes they are smaller, but your awful gun stats mean you’ll have to fight at much closer range to be effective, so that matters less than you think.  Every other stat on the T-34-3 is worse than the 59-Patton except alpha, and both tanks share a 250 penetration HEAT round.  While that’s better on the T-34-3 than on the 59-Patton due to preferential MM, the 59-Patton’s premium round is still one of the better ones that any of the tier 8 normal MM premium medium tanks gets (only the M4A1 Revalorise and the STA-2 get premium rounds that are inarguably better).

They’re both fun but extremely different play styles. The T28 htc plays like a T95 at tier 7 as long you hide your side boobs and the M56 kinda plays like a hellcat I guess- ie it’s a glass cannon built for stealth fights; don’t leave home without its crew trained in camo.

Also you should note that the T28htc has worse accuracy which makes long distance fighting painful at times coupled with worse penetration on both standard and premium rounds. But it is armored enough to stand up to tier 7 guns and most tier 8 guns when played correctly.  M56 has the opposite issue, great penetration and accuracy but a strong fart will damage or destroy it.

I checked all over the Premium shop, I don't see the Somua SM on sale anywhere. Maybe it's just a regional thing for you, or an account-specific sale?

I just logged into the WOT NA web site and checked the vehicles in the Premium Shop. As of the time of this post the Somua SM is still showing 15% off for me at $52.50 CDN, or about $39.50 USD. Just for Canada? Maybe just for my account? Don't know why as I bought one a couple of months ago but have yet to play it.

I believe WG said that there are more sales coming for Black Friday / Cyber Monday. Also, December is just around the corner, which usually has some rarer or more "special" tanks on sale as well.

Great write up and a sorely needed post with tremendous value.  It's about time that WoT had its own equivalent of WoWs' Little White Mouse and this is a pretty good start! Without a doubt definitely worth pinning this thread as it can be useful to both new and veteran players if any are contemplating taking advantage of this sale.  Actually, this kind of information is needed regardless of a sale so a player can make a more informed buying decision.

For myself, the good ole Lowe holds the most allure.  It's always been rather pricey and my T34 has done just fine being the main credit earner in my garage.  Also have a number of other tier 8 premiums so credit earning isn't an issue and I don't need it as a trainer with the Tiger 131 in my garage.  Still the price is nice and were it 30% in gold, likely it would be a done deal.  Something for me to think about, especially with the all star rating given to it here...

Wow, I can't believe what you said about Steyr WT and Panther M10

First, I never thought to find someone that likes the Steyr besides me, lol. The tank requires high skill level due the current meta, I wouldn't recommend it to average players, they will suffer with it.

Panther M10.......I don't know, It used to be a good tank, but with the recent addition of strong tanks, at tier 8, now is not worthy, yes, you have the HP to trade in some fights, but the problem is the gun. the Pz IVS has the same gun, but at tier 6 is much more confortable...

I must be the only one that likes the Panther 8,8, I 3 marked it, lol...

For me the Lowe is like that pair of boots that fit perfect from day one. Occasionally spectacular but just always feels good.

The Panther M10 and the Pz4S have essentially the same matchmaking. I mean sure 1 or 2 games in a hundred you might see tier 4s in the PZ4, but 90% of the time you’ll be seeing tier 8. Which tank is better equipped to fight tier 8s?
