Which tank is better equipped to fight tier 8s?

Nice question, it depends on the playstyle, as a Sniper, PzIV is better to fight tier 8s as it only faces 3 tier 8s, you can almost avoid them too. The Panther can see 5 tier 8s and the playstyle is a mix of second line and brawler. Panther M10 is not a good sniper due the size and camo. I should give it a try, I did it months ago and It was painful.

I saw one in battle, and I was sure he bought it recently as no one plays the panther M10 regularly, and I perma tracked him to death with my PzIVS...for sure the guy raged hahaha

Don’t know what people want to complain or bash on the Panther/M10 for.  It compares very favorably to tech tree tier 7 mediums and it doesn’t see tier 9 like they do.

All tier 7 meds are “meh” and the panther is right there with them in “meh”ville.

It has some of the best armor, but not the best.  It has a good engine, but not the best hp/wt, it has a good gun, but not the best.  It is a very well-rounded tank whose only real weakness is the combination of slightly slow reload with plinky alpha, putting it about 2-300 less dpm (theoretical) to say, the Comet, which actually has lower velocity rounds.

until the 8.8 gets a serious look, your only other “trainer” would be what?  The t-55?

edit:  thanks for making this thread, tempted to spend 20 bucks on a few of the lower tiered tanks.

The Panther 88 was at least sufferable before the template system was put in. But now, it's like getting a root canal with no anesthetic. It easily needs to receive Pref MM and the upgraded 88 that the Prem Jagdtiger got to make it enjoyable to play again.

Yeah, these jokers from WG become more and more delusional!

Instead of offering a decent 50% rebate of some premium items (like a decent Black Friday sale), or offering a 24 hours sale of some rare tanks, these jokers offer us a 1000 USD package?!?

HEY, JOKERS, A HINT FOR YOUR CLOUDED MINDS: WE ALREADY HAVE ALMOST ALL THE TANKS IN THAT STUPID 1000 USD BUNDLE!!! AND NOT A SINGLE NEWCOMER CLUBBED HARD BY SEAL-CLUBBERS IN LOW TIERS WILL SPEND 1000 USD ON YOUR GAME !!! WAKE-UP JOKERS!!!

Read it all and am curious about the M56.  I beleive I read somewhere that the U.S.A. reward TD pays at a lower rate then other premiums or maybe has higher costs.  The gist of that conversation was that the T28 Concept was not as good a money maker per tier than most other premiums.  I ask this because at basically twelve dollars USD, putting the M56 in the garage with only the intent of filling the bank is very tempting.

Any thoughts?

Maybe because the T28 Concept is a “reward” tank and not a premium tank?  Not sure.  I know that not all premiums are equal in that regard, as one of the tanks with the best premium bonuses is supposedly the Churchill III.

rev and fv 201 a45 shouldn't get the same rating.

Rev is miles ahead of that t7 peashooter no speed no armor "heavy".

While it’s true they are not comparable, I don’t think that was the intent, either, as they don’t share a tier.

the Rev is a glass cannon, although it can trade with other tier 8 mediums, although I’d think you would “snipe” with it.

For its tier, the fv201 is not a glass cannon. In fact, the only British tanks with much better guns are TD’s.  Everything else has some version of the 17 pounder as the top gun.  While the fv201 has less armor than the black prince (most tier 7’s do), it is still a better armor profile than everything else the British line offers at tier 7.

we all know that other than a certain medium, most of the British are meh until tier 8.

Outstanding work Scorp! +1

I will bookmark this and add it to my reference list of guides and info sheets and tutorials to a fairly complex game.

As a newer player, I really appreciate the info and opinions provided by some of the veterans and frequent contributors here, including you, _Juris, War Child, dunniteowl, and many others I follow but am at a a loss to recall right now and rudely omitting their names.

I play mostly LTs, as that is what all "newbies" begin on, and I like the mobility and team concept behind spotting and scouting for the team. It really can jump start a battle and determine the outcome of a game with an aggressive team behind you.

I have started now to get into the medium lines, and I find this kind of info especially helpful as I work up the tech trees of various nations.

After acquiring a Val II thru the twitch promo recently, I am learning more of stand-up brawling w/ armor, and will begin to start rounding out my garage with some HT and slower MTs, but my favored path in this game will still be LTs and mobility.

Alhough my budget is tight, and at the time I'm not really looking to spend much or anything at the moment(unless, perhaps the "Berlin 4/5" comes along these holidays), I will refer to this thread and others as I advance in the game and look to spend a few bucks here and there to round out my garage.

Thank you for all your hard work on this. I'm sure it will help many people out.

Out of all your quick reviews which I feel are pretty accurate, I'm surprised you didn't mention something about the Krup-Steyr WT which can drive players mad. It has good gun depression, but what about those two places on the left and right front where it does not have good gun depression and the gun cannot aim low. It drove me crazy as I would rotate my turret to follow aim at someone and the gun would pop up as it rotated. I got rid of mine in a trade-in even after trying to play it backwards where the gun depression is super and does not have those bumps.

Other then that, excellent work.

You always set up your K-S WT backwards so you get better depression and can drive off quicker. It's one of my favourite tanks, even though my stats with are crap, as it was the first premium I got and haven't had a chance to play it that much since. However; when I take it out for a spin, with bit more experience under my belt, it never fails to give me a pleasant surprise. Top speed isn't great but the acceleration is pretty damn good, especially since you dont need a fire extinguisher with it, so you can use high grade petrol. Since you are going to be parking it backwards, it can get under cover in a snap if your great cammo doesn't hold up. One of the most underrated tanks in the game imho. I think I completed the first set of personal missions with it, without much of a problem and with less than 500 games under my belt.

Who's the WE in this response? I'm pretty sure the majority of players playing this game don't.

But $1000 for some pixel tanks is freakin' hilarious.
