Looks like some good info here I may have to check out...my biggest beef is I never run into players who are as bad as I am.

OP with 3500 battles you are still in the learning phase, heck with almost 20k I am still learning.  Lots of good info here and folks to help out so ask away.

Cheers

The vast majority of people on here will give you solid advice or at least their honest opinions.

There are some trolls and some whiny butt-hurts, but they're pretty easy to ignore.

We may not all agree on most things, but all-in-all, there's a lot of respect here.

Welcome to the forum.

(Just don't start typing in large purple text and spouting poetry about how much you love your E25)

Cool-Hand, you must not be looking at the replays. Heck, when I look at the replays of battles that I was in, there is no uncertainty that I am NOT the worst player. Just keep saying "I can get better! I can get better!"

It takes about 5k battles to really begin to understand the game.  About 10k battles to be decent.  Joining a clan or getting solid coaching will shorten those periods.

Ill say this...I hate the e25's...little bturds always zipping around me...I have no idea how to mange my barracks...I constantly get hit by stuff I cant see..my only premium tank is a POS as the gun is a pea shooter when I am in games with X's and IX's,   My new MOD means I suck just as bad as before only with more color...but other than that the play wasn't so bad Mrs. Lincoln.

Welcome!

Note that there is about 10% good info, 45% trolls, 45% whines.

At 3.5K games I really knew very little about how to really play this game. Feel free to ask questions. The forum is most useful for this.

There are some good youtube videos you might want to watch. Probably Taugrim would be the most constructive for you.

and last question as I am sure this has been asked a million times before...but why are there no "jungle" maps with absolutely no visibility beyond 20 or 30 meters in front of you?

Not sure if they are still a thing, but look up "Lert's Guides." They were the best thing I saw for new players. Good Luck.

Found them, memorize this info....

Never really saw any maps like that, the game is very visually orientated with spotting and sniping so can't see where that would work well.  As for replays check out YouTube, Guido1212, 4tankersanddog, Taugrim all have good videos up on various things.  I also have a channel with replays.

Cheers

The E-25 will probably be available for Christmas again. If you want one I would just warn you that the Roach doesn't really become OP until it has a crew with camo, BIA and such. A green crew on an E-25 will tend to  frustrate you.

When you say "jungle", if you mean a completely forested map, that would not lend itself to fun gameplay due to spotting. However, it would be nice to see a tropical climate map, with areas of jungle vegetation.

Don’t stress over your skill level yet.  When you die, change view to other players and watch what they do successfully and try to incorporate that into your play style.  Some active coaching by better players would also be helpful.  There are several quite good players on the forums that have offered to coach people.  I would suggest that as well as watching videos from the players mentioned above.  When I was at 5,000 battles I was still a complete tomato.  I’m a little less so now, but only a little.

Welcome to the forums man!  I'm almost at 9k and finally starting to really get a feel for the game :D.  Just relax and enjoy, stats aren't everything.

Try this out:  The WoT Welcome Package

While it's not light reading, it will provide you the Core Essentials for learning to get better.  I'd tell you all the stuff it includes, but it comes with that, too!

GL, HF & HSYBF!

OvO

Oh, and Welcome to the Madness that is WoT PC!

To your first question:

First you have to turn on the feature to save your replays. They take little HD space so they're usually not a storage issue.

They're kept in a subfolder of your WoT game folder called "replays".

To view them you need to not have WoT running, then go to the replay folder and click on a replay. The client will start up and the replay will begin to run.

There are instructions in the replay to make it run faster or slower or pause and you can change the POV as well.

If you have replays that will not run the most likely reason is they have been rendered obsolete by an update. Any major update generally makes all previous replays  not viewable.

As to your second inquiry, WG has over the last several years defoliated may of the maps and removed the few "jungle" maps there were.

Dragons Ridge was a "jungle"(ish) map, but its long gone.

Only WG knows why. :honoring:

I would think a map with loads of vegetation and various "trails" with limited sight lines due to turns and such would force teams to communicate more...just a thought....OK Thanks for all of the input and I will get on my research.
