If you would learn how to play the game better, you might have a clue as to what you’re talking about. Premium ammo is an ammo type purchased with credits and is available to all. It’s by no means an auto pen. Leveling your crews on your tanks will certainly help, but what game do you know of that characters don’t get stronger with higher levels??? Either this is a troll post or you’re less intelligent than you sound...
Also, having 91k games but an abysmal WN8 likely means your “friend” was botting...

Im a new player and i make credits on my tier IX Conqueror, and im not a liar.
I carry atleast 35% off my ammo space with premium ammo just because without it i cant face type 4/5 heavies. 99% of my games i only use AP.
Its truth that tier IX and X can be expensive, but smart play and a premium account is enough.

I guess it's completely illogical that when one cannot reliably penetrate the enemy's tank to do damage and/or kill them, one does not load an ammunition type that can. Ask any real-life tanker ( I know two: M1A1 driver and a Sheridan Commander) if they would change ammunition types in order to take out their enemy. I'm sure they wouldn't call it cheating or too advantageous. As well, is it considered bad form to use HE if you can pen and do more damage? I think not.
They offer a replica of a real-life situation: if you cannot pen with AP, load HEAT/APCR. So use it.

Big hmm op. Sounds like you lost your mind/tin foil hat.
I don't fire much prem at all unless I am 1) almost dead. 2) one of the few alive. 3) I just don't care about my credits.
Prem doesn't = auto win. You can still be an idiot who does not know where to position or use your tank effectively, or know when to leave a flank. So if you loaded all prem you'd still be a pleb and play terribly.

NOTICE TO NEW PLAYERS: The OP here does not know what he's talking about and has some axe to grind.
However like ANY game there is a "learning curve". I'd suggest a new-player friendly Clan (yes there are some) AFTER you've been in the game a few weeks. Take a look around and see who offers what. Look at some YouTube videos. There is no question that being in a Clan infers advantages. The ammo thing...don't worry about it for now.

I did read your post, if there were no skill then all we'd see in game would be headless chickens running around being clueless about the game mechanics but that's not the case, and if someone knows the game then they can do work without premium ammo and in turn gain more credits because they're not using it at every opportunity, and while yes tier 9 and 10 is designed as a credit sink as long as you can refrain from using premium ammo and you're somewhat decent then it wouldn't be too hard to break even or even gain credits at those tiers.
Personally i rarely use my limited stock of premium ammo to the point where i'm not using it when i really should but despite that i've still managed to get these stats that i have all while never having been in a clan and platoons only make up like less than 100 battles so i've been solo for a very long time
