I've been driving light tanks a lot the last 4 months, its my fav class.  I think I have found my place in WOT at least for now.  I get a lot of spots.  I got a lot of stuff for LT1,LT2,LT3 missions.  I only managed LT4 4 times in November though so didn't get the diploma.  Just to clarify I have to spot 4 tanks in a single battle right?  (It doesn't exactly say that so just making sure)  Also it says must remain unspotted at time of spotting.  Sorry I don't have a replay, but there has definitely been a few times where I spotted a bunch of tanks right at the beginning, at least 4, and my sixth sense didn't go off.  But I didn't get the LT4 completion.  So I'm not sure what is the trick?  Sure I was spotted later on in the battle maybe a minute or two later a few times, but it says "stay unspotted at the MOMENT of spotting", so how long is a "moment" really?  I feel like I have to spot 4 tanks then run away so they don't counter spot me for the rest of the battle or I won't get the award.

Light tank vets, any advice?

Spot tanks previously unspotted while you remain unspotted. You have to be the first one to spot the enemy the first time.

Best strategy is to quickly locate into a position enemy tanks must drive by. So magic bushes and maximize view range (recon, situational awareness, binocs, food) as well as maximizing camp with camo skills, camp net an camo paint.

There are some maps that are exceptionally difficult to get four blind spots.

I accomplished 28 of the light tank Stamps this last month.  That's 280,000xp which is why I currently own an almost fully outfitted LTTB (need the gun, but will have today) even though I started from scratch just 2 weeks ago.

I've done these 101-301 missions with lower tier tanks because it is easier. For the 401, I switch to the tank that I'm grinding and play it until it happens.

For the Light Tank 401, you need to set your scout up for passive scouting (camo net & binocs).  You need to haul your bum to the best scouting bush and just sit there until you've spotted 4 new tanks WITHOUT you being spotted AT ALL.  FYI - this mission is not team oriented or helpful to winning sometimes.  I get it done regardless.

Good luck!

lt 401= just playing with binos and waiting to get a map you can early passive scout on.

I'm 3 wins, 12 losses today - BUT I've gotten TD 401 & Light 401 accomplished and I'll have Medium 401 done here soon.

PS - it is nice consolation when I load in a battle and see that it's unwinnable YET I get my mission done.  Winning should never be a requirement in my opinion.

I had an issue with this mission.  I got 101-301 done in three games, but just didn't seem able to complete 401.  I sent in a ticket because I had a few games where I was positive I had spotted 6 while I wasn't spotted.  The answer is that your tank has to be "undetected at the moment of spotting."  If you were spotted early in the game, you were "detected", even if you are no longer spotted when you spot the enemy tanks.  Hope this helps.  I found you had to get the lucky combination of map, teammates and opponents who didn't suiscout, and being the fastest scout on your team so you could get to "that" bush first.

I  thanked them for the reply, but suggested they might be a little cleared on their mission requirements in the future.

You can not be spotted ever before you make your 4 first spots, after that it doesn't matter. It's really easy IF you get the right maps.

Yeah, to get the 401, you gotta have the right maps, then hope there aren't other lights on your team that have a better view range than you who go to your spotting location. Oh yeah, and hope the red team doesn't have lights who are also doing the missions who can out spot you and spot you first. Getting 401 done sometimes can be frustrating.

Just to be best chances I use premium fuel, speed governor removed and food. Gotta get into position fast.

It's actually really easy IF you get the right maps. It's by far the easiest 401.
