Not really a question about the tank per-se, but why do people call the WZ the "W Zed" is this a slang term or is it a historical reference or something else? This maybe a stupid question, however I kinda would like to know.

Thanks

Because in much of the English speaking world, the letter "Z" is pronounced "Zed"
