The arty complaining is just stupid. In the real world a single artillery shell would demolish a Panther and flip it over in pieces. That doesn't ever happen in this game. You plant a 155mm shell square in the front of a tank with little armor, and bam, 250 damage if you're lucky. Pathetic. Amazing physics, there. Let's talk about the wheelie tanks with 15mm armor that bounce three shots in a row from a Borsig. Yup, that's "dynamic gameplay". What a joke.

Are the people who voted for the first option trolling?!? If not, I'm honestly baffled... My only problem with this poll was that it wouldn't let me select two answers! (I'm sure you can figure out which two)

Be careful what you ask for.  All the pancake squishy tanks can be spotted and offer a sliver of a target in exchange for farming damage at a ridge line with no fear of HE coming down.

There are some turtles up defenses that drag out matches...and draws...the team with map control and remaining arty should be able to have that support to chip away.  A lot of the tier 10 draws I've endured were arty free.

Everyone knows the game would be much better without arty, and Wargaming knows it too.  Anyone defending arty is either too stupid to play a real tank, or too much of a sissy to participate in the fight, either way arty needs to be removed along with the players who play it.  There is no reason 3 people on the enemy team should be able to sit in their base and click on me for 300-700 damage and stun me for 25 seconds every 20-30 seconds with complete immunity.  Look at 3 arty games on Prokoravka and Malinovka, everyone just camps in the forest because they know if they get spotted they are f*****.  Anyone who thinks that is good for the game is a brain dead moron and I'm not at all surprised they play arty.

I'm so sick of arty that whenever there are 2 or 3 arties on the enemy team I just quit to garage and look for another battle; no point in wasting my time camping for 15 minutes trying not to get clicked on.

BINGO!

Yes, because having toxic gameplay mechanics is not enough, what we really need to improve gameplay is a toxic element that FOCUSES A SINGLE PLAYER FOR THE ENTIRETY OF THE MATCH. Way healthier for the community, you should be a game dev!

So when you see the arty shells bursting all around you, that doesn't motivate you to go somewhere else? If you insist on staying in the same place when you know you are being arty focused, then you deserve whatever happens.

wow where to even begin? obviously everyone does not share your opinion. there have been so many polls that infact are the opposite of your opinion. real tanks? please upload a picture of your real life tank. i have been in more games without spgs that have had people camp than with. because of you i will start playing more spgs games, since you leave to the garage (i.e. being a sissy) that only helps the opposing team. my god i hope your not like this in real life, how pathetic would that be....

I despised arty until I realized I could drink a beer and eat dinner while playing. :P

Aaaah yes!  Nothing like cracking open a vintage October 2019 thread in order to beat a dead horse with the power of feelz and the ability to speak for others!

Meanwhile, understand that quitting a battle to return to the garage for another battle is against World of Tanks rules and may subject your account to sanctioning/lock out.

some of us, have conditions like PTSD, anxiety disorders etc which cause us to shake, myself included.  I am no good at twitch firing or anything lighter than a heavy most times.  Arty lets me be part of the game with what im capable of.   So no, arty is great, they need to be re-worked as they are broken but just don't camp in the open.

I hate arty when I'm in a tank (except the arty on my team) but I love arty when I play it. Nothing more satisfying than smacking a heavy that's beating up on my team. Now I'm feeling a little schizophrenic. But I *always* hate the LeafBlower arty ('cause I don't have one).

I've always wondered about this. I've seen a lot of games where I dump shell after shell on the same dufus who either just sits there looking around in confusion, or tentatively moves back and forth about 3 feet or so, somehow thinking that will make him unhittable. I love guys like this. Most people, when they get half their hitpoints taken away by an artillery hit that breaks their tank and zaps their crew, will get the hint and move to greener pastures...but some people seem gluttons for punishment. A favorite is when they're peeking out from behind a rock or shed, and they think by driving back 6 feet they are now immune. Hilarious. Almost makes the game enjoyable at times.
