Well this gave us more indepth insight... though mostly just confirming information...

Looks like only the USSR and Germany get a gunner on a heavy fighter...

Maybe they will add one for the US later.

I'm assuming when referring to take-off, it's at the start of the battle. This to me is cutting out some of the fun.
Taking off should be part of the game, correction, needs to be part of the game. Granted you probably can't have 15 planes trying to take off all at once so perhaps divide it up, 8 are already starting in the air, 7 are taking off from the ground. And it is random if you start in the air or on the ground.
By not having take-offs, to me is taking away some of the realism of flying.

Just wanted to add, by having 2 waves of planes (1st wave are the ones who started in the air, 2nd wave ground planes), opens up opportunities for tactics.

Everyone should start on ground. Given the number of folks loading into a game at different times and those afk this should be the way of it.

would also be useful if we could land also. this would be a nice feature IF something like capture the flag was implemented.. get the flag from enemy base by low flying but need to land at own base to cap it.

Yeah landing needs to be introduced as well.

Not for capturing a base or anything, but more for reloading. And make landing a high risk maneuver to force players to still be wise with their ammo.
