I'm definitely keeping the Obj. 257... that's pretty obvious. But I've got a bad feeling about the IS-7... that tier for tier it's going to be a letdown compared to the 257.

In my experience on the test server its pen just won't cut it out against Type 5s, 268 v4s and other "balanced" tanks, it's fast so you can go to the med flank and ruin their day though.

I did not like the 130mm S-70 on the Object 705 at all.  Trolled the heck out of me.  It's kept me from buying the IS-7, which I have had researched for a long time.

I personally like the IS-7:P

The Pen is fine if you get used to it and know where to aim on tanks, which being hull down will give you a great amount of time.

You NEED to be hull down to be viable, and therefore you must change your locations and playstyle.:great:

On the IS-7 you lose the op spaced armor side skirts that the rest of the line leading up to the IS-7 has, and therefore you must re-learn side scrapping as it is much more difficult with the IS-7 and not as forgiving against those 1,200 Alpha rounds :arta:

As a bonus the IS-7 is a great stat padder in my opinion aslong as you remain hull down and fire as much shells as you can while you turret bounces almost everything:playing:

I've just recently unlocked my IS-7. I have 48 battles played with an average 2424.27WN8. The highest out of every tank I own and it has definitely boosted my poor WN8 that I destroyed during my first 6k battles:medal:

IS-7 is a great tank, Good gun handling makes it actually possible to hit weak spots.

I went through phases with it, first I liked it, grinded it just for my first ever ranked battles. Then I started to hate it thinking it did not fit my style, so i got the 277. Drove the 277 a little, learned to appreciate the IS-7 and it is back in favor with me again.

I think I like it because it reminds me of the IS-6 in regards to driving and gun handling, IS-6 one of my favorite tanks to play.

Most Soviet vehicles we're actually made to be idiot-proof. I'm not saying that Soviet tankers we're relatively untrained and unskilled... But that's exactly what I'm saying. The good old system of monkey see monkey do.

Don't get me wrong it's nothing against the Soviets. Several Nations ended up subscribing to this training Style.
