and here comes for my next dollar a small example of what greek rock sounds like..

those are 2 of the most popular rock bands in greece singing in greek..

you definitelly wont understand a word but i hope you like it anyway..

 

first band is called "Tripes" which means "holes" and the song's title is "taxidiara psychi" which means "travelling soul"

second band is the "xilina spathia" means "wooden swords" and their song "o vasilias tis skonis" which means "the king of the dust" (as "dust" in greece we often reffering to heroin..)

A few more Greek cuts.  Reaches towards the back of the vault.  Vangelis and Aprhodite's Child  needed some company anyway. ;)

 

And spot on Sons...  good music transcends language.  Always think of the scenes in Shawhank and Saving Private Ryan in relation to that.

here is an awesome band, they are huge in greece now days.. they play ska/reggae.. mostly in greek lyrics but they have enough english songs as well..

Steven Georgiou had a Greek father.  After a while, all these artists sound Greek to me.

their sounds is what people of my age and older, grew up with..
