Proven to make RNG better:

CAUTION TO ALL: WILL TURN WATER INTO VODKA, DOG INTO BEAR, CAR INTO GLORIOUS IS-3

Otherwise, something more "sane" that I usually listen to. Hopefully it isn't cheating to post an album lol

Spoiler

Wish I could triple post, because then I would definitely throw in Brian Eno's Ambient 1, but oh well.

So does this mean that the Art Carney estate should be able to sue Run DMC for something like this???  Just change the speed a bit... and the record is spinning...right?  Seriously, the voice inflections and progressions are remarkably similar.

Then again...nothing against Run DMC.  I can truly say that I have never heard THIS song played at a club, that hasn't totally roiled the audience.

Spoiler

But, maybe this one will truly convince you...

Seen that a day or two ago Klaatu and that judge...   really?  That judge does not have a clue about music.

In the late 1970s I breadboarded (  https://www.amazon.c...s/dp/B0040Z1ERO ) a synthesizer using a complex sound generator ( https://logosfoundat...log/SN94281.pdf ), a voltage control oscillator, a capacitance/resistance substitution box and some other stuff. I was generating a lot of cool and unusual sounds but saw no practical use for any of them so I moved on and forgot about it. Forgot about it until I watched the first Star Wars movie and recognized one of my sounds - the light sabers. Since then I've heard some of my other sounds I created used in movies. I should have copyrighted all of it.

Those are interesting legal cases. And I remember George Harrison's My Sweet Lord riff was taken to court as a copy of the 1963 Chiffons tune He's so Fine. The judge, stating the two pieces were basically the same in their main chords and melody, found Harrison guilty of copyright infringement and "subconscious plagiarism." Harrison and manager Allen Klein tried to bargain their way out of it, even offering to buy the plaintiffs whole catalogue at one point, but the plaintiffs stuck to their guns and in the end Harrison had to pay 1.6 million dollars.

The things you learn after someone dies. What I learned is my recently deceased uncle's recently deceased wife, who was not a U.S. citizen, is from Liverpool. I found this out last night while talking on the phone with her niece (68 years old) who currently lives in Liverpool. She asked were I was born so I told her my parents were living on Lopez Island when I was born and mentioned some of my earliest memories are taking the ferry boat to the mainland. She responded that she enjoys taking the ferry across the Mercy River which prompted me to mention the song. It turns out she knows Gerry and was is a big fan of 1960s pop music.

Spoiler

I was on the phone with her for an hour and a half. I think I'm starting to speak British now.

I also learned my uncle had a small coin collection with is news to me. We were not close family.
