Was wondering what the feel of these 2 formats bring to the table, we have been using TS for years and like TS but seems Discord is growing in popularity, its become almost a deal breaker when trying to recruit especially in WOW and some in WOT, besides the monetary issues between the 2 I have been told that TS offers more while discord is still considered basic, voice quality I hear is about the same, Discord is used in a browser while TS is a downloadable program, does this matter?

Im trying to get good tech advice on the 2 and does it really matter in the scheme of things of the future of gaming, a lot of WOW players wont touch TS but its a even base in WOTs some will use TS while others prefer discord and its pretty much one or the other not both it seems.

some real feedback on this would be helpful.

Thanks in advance

I have used both in the past as well as Raidcall.I prefer Teamseak but find it just too pricey.Discords UI is just too hard for this old man to navigate. My clans are just using the ingame chat atm.Price for TS with 25 slots was over $80 Canadian for 6 months.

The browser for discord is pretty bad. You NEED the program.

As for which one is better, there is no comparison. Discord is meant for casual's, TS for competitive. My clan uses both, as Discord is pretty good for text chat. The audio quality is the same, but if you have a large number of users in voice chat, the server starts to lag hard. There are many limitations to Discord, and TS. Use what you need.

Anyone who uses the archaic teamspeak software these days needs to reevaluate life choices.

You clearly have not read the EULA for Discord. Its as bad of a spying machine as Crapbook.

Used teamspeak for the most of the time I played World of Tanks and I still find it easy to set up and use. I tired using discord to talk to some people I use to play tanks with years ago and I couldn't get that dam thing to work. So I gave up and uninstalled the bloody garbage.

Using discord is similar to players using blind mode when they are not color blind. People have seen unicum players using blind mode and start using blind mode also because they think it will improve their game or to be different and unique.

I very much prefer teamspeak to discord for voice chats/communications. The interface is better (imo), has better permission and tagging capability, supports larger groups, also discord seems to make my computer lag a little and gives random notifications every now and then which is annoying.

Up to you, its weird that people have such an issue one way or the other that the mothod of voice chat is the deal breaker, some people really need to relax.

Shop around. TS servers are actually pretty cheap. As for it turning people off there are always some. When I played WoW everyone wanted Ventrillo only, despite TS being half the price at the time.

Yeah I like TS as well, our WOW division recruiters talking to individuals and swear on discord and wont join any clan that uses TS, thought that was weird, but was just wondering what the masses thought

Definitely discord if you're playing with friends and want to talk about things other than just WoT. With Discord I can post files and YouTube videos with ease and plus who likes Teamspeak's Windows 98 interface. It is so outdated and people are just stubborn when it comes to change. Plus, Discords bitrate is better sooooo..... Honestly, if you're paying for a TS3 server still you should reevaluate your choices.

The deal is you can lock down TS much better then Discord.  Does anyone want spies in their

comms?  Nope.

Permissions in Discord is literally a two click operation. You can make a new invite only see an empty server if you want.

Wow... I guess I never realized TeamSpeak cost so much to use. I am lucky to have my own dedicated server for work, so I installed a free 256-slot version that I've been running for a few years now. I remember pitching in to help an old clan with their TS costs, but never found out the actual monthly costs.

x.

OMG ... Teamspeak?   Stab my eyes out!!!  Are you serious???   Teamspeak sucks buttermilk!!!!

Discord has privacy issues?  Hahahaha!  You're either naive and just looking for excuses.

If you have problems setting up Discord, get your 7 year old grandson (or granddaughter to help).

No, this is a matter of, "I don't want to change!!!! Whaaaaaaah!!!!"
