What is the point of playing that extra time to get all the boxes available in a day when the contents of the boxes are determined by how much money you spend in the game ?

 

for at least 5 days straight averaging about 30-60 shards of recyclable crap out of each box with sometimes opening 12 at a time with all yier 1 ornaments .. (30 shards) occasionally 1 in 5 will have a single tier 3 and with the tier 4  single ornament if your lucky 1 time a day                                                                                          

 

If you have been playing a lot and opening small boxes you KNOW this is pretty much how it has been with almost all tier 5 ornaments being MADE not found ..

 

For all you buying large boxes that is a completely different story as you have been getting at least 1 tier 4 and 5 per box along with everything else .. so if your buying large boxes this has nothing to do with you as you are part of the pay to win category in this and not free to play ... and if you bought 75 large boxes and your small boxes get good stuff as well ? of course you are continued to be rewarded in selective RNG that favors you ..but most importantly your credit card

I think what I'm getting from it is that if you buy the large loot boxes, you get better shards than those just relying on the small in-game loot boxes...

 

Now there's an absolute revelation! 

 

I'm a bit lost about the credit card RNG bit, but I give this post 6/10.

OP you are totally right and this is why the game is dying fast, WOT is hardcore paytowin. Wargaming took the happiest event of the year for everyone and made it yet again into a paytowin scenario. Look i get it that the game needs money to run, but was it really that hard to make an event like christmas truly freetoplay where everyone had the chance to get rewards without grinding your life on it? It should have been an event where everyone is equal. 20K players at peak and dropping fast.

I really enjoyed the Christmas event and thought they did tons for players, experience bonuses., tank discounts, extra silver, extra premium time, etc., etc.

I bought over $400 worth of boxes this year.  I might even buy a few more before Monday.  I pay to have nicer stuff, but if there is a pay-to-win aspect of this game then someone please show me where I can buy that.

The truth about the small free boxes is simple: the target is to gain the 62 in each collection to get the 50% boost each one offers.  To go beyond this point is a waste of your time and effort.  Truth be told, what good is Holiday Camo anyway?  You are better off buying the 75,000 silver rental camo every 100 battles.  In the long run it is much cheaper and better looking for tank purists (I don't have any purple, pink or blue tanks in my garage) or on what you will spend chasing tier 4 and 5 ornaments.

 

In reality, you are only earning the equivalent of buying Premium Time.

Who cares about the ugly Christmas camo?  That is literally the only thing you will miss out on not buying boxes.  You can easily get tier 10 rewards and all the bonuses f2p.

I agree and Disagree with the OP and Ratnikk(posted above). WoT is not pay to win by my view point since you can buy the nefarious gold rounds with silver. However, I do believe it's pay to succeed(at a much faster pace). Having said all of that mess, the standard loot boxes are terrible at rewarding ornaments for everyone, unless you are the few that RNG has been great to over the last month and then compounded again by the RNG when making shards to try and complete your ornament book.(example trying to get 1 tier V ornament but getting the same one you don't need 4 times in a row at over a 1000 shards a roll). 

 

I bought boxes myself because i see value in them since I do spend quite a bit of $$ on the game. However, I am disappointed that WG made it extremely difficult for people to fill their ornament books. In my opinion filling the ornament book should be obtainable for everyone pay/free players as an incentive just for playing the game over the allotted time frame. However, it's just my opinion.

 

Final thought, Another poster mentioned that it's an obvious cash grab and that is kind of hurting the population, which in reality I think it is.  As much as I like(depending on the day) Tonks, WG has to throw obtainable incentives to keep people interested and it will have to be more than just some free xp or a tier VIII premium that requires massive grind times in a relative short amount of time. This holiday season WG, has kind of proven that they can make some pretty kick [edited]skins for some of the tanks, It would be nice to see more skins etc. thrown out there to be completed by missions(obtainable and not grinding for 10 days) or something.. rant stops now..

You can get a ton of premium tanks and gold and lots of bonus items with a single $40 box.  I have over 30k gold from two of the $40 boxes plus IS3A, skorp G, and just about all the tier 5 tanks.  That isn't pay to win that's a fraction of the cost of what you would normally pay for all that in the store.  This is the time to get gold to supply your premium time for the rest of the year plus all the bonus stuff that comes with it.  If you choose not to and want premium time later it will cost you about 15 bucks a month.  That's a lot more for the year and no bonus stuff.

While I agree, Once na "dies" in 2 years we will merge with EU which still has a few Hundred k online at any time.

I bought 3 $5.99 packages on New Years eve. And of all the Boxes I open those 9 Gave by far the Biggest bang for my Buck!. I got the Skorpian a second Is3a,and the 9th kv220 all 3 I got gold value for . well over $140 for $18. But since then the boxes I have opened have been really bad, I have opens around 25 since and the best was 500 Gold, Last decent thing I got was 2,250gold value from a kv220  and 500 gold from the 3 free boxes. I think the Boxes for the most Part are kicked

no , dude I was replying to someone else, And it is going to happen, sooner or later, except it. I want the game to be like it was back in 2013-2015 on the Na but even then our pop on prime time was 50k on the weekends. I won't be sad when the day comes that we are merged is all I am saying , whether it happens in 2 years or 5 years. I just want to play with a MM that has enough tanks to Work. Btw Puddin Pie got nothing better to do?
