I just got the new VK 36.01 (H) after grinding way too long with the VK 30.01 (H). I'm not sure how to play this tank appropriately as the VK 3001 is usually a support sniper role, as the armor was horrible and the speed is amazingly slow. The VK 3601 also doesn't have great armor and about average speed, but it has the Waffe gun like the 3001. I'm trying to decide whether the 3601 is more suited for a brawler, close range tank or another sniper/support. Or maybe some other role. Any help would be appreciated.

also m48 Patton line or t110e5 line

All that I think of it as cannon fodder but years ago it was a medium tank that was well loved by many however that is only distant memories. The tank as it exists today is very situational to play and it takes time to build the skills needed to do well in heavies that are similar with the French heavies being the worst of it. My advice is to not rush the line but rather consider playing other lines till you get an idea how things are before ending up on the short end of the stick.

I suggest using the 88mm on the 3601, as the 75mm just results in you losing too many trades. If you use the 88, play as a mid to close range support tank, trading with your HP when needed. If you're top tier, just brawl (but still play conservatively, you want to save your HP for when you need it, not blow it against an O-I or something). With the 75, I personally think you're stuck between a rock and a hard place, because the pen on it is no longer good enough for you to snipe, and the alpha is now so bad that you will bleed away all your HP just from trading.

I've played both tanks, and can tell you that one is definitely better than the other. The T29 is the only highlight of the E5 line.

VK Hs are awful, if you want the Tiger you'll do yourself a favor by getting them from the Tiger P.

I've played 1264 battles in it - it isn't awful at all.  But it isn't easy to play, either.

I prefer the Waffe to the 88 due to the pen, accuracy, and rate of fire, but I'll switch it up on occasion just for fun.  Fully upgraded it's a baby Tiger, so if you are top tier you can brawl just fine.  Mid or bottom tier you'll want to play a support role and help out friendly heavies by keeping enemies tracked and miserable.
