I don't care if your crew isn't 100%.

I don't care if you forgot to load ammo.

You don't need to announce these things at the beginning of a battle.  You could not make me think any less of you any ways.  Sorry, but it's true.  Keep your shortcomings to yourself.

I mean sometimes knowing if a tank is stock is helpful. For example, you expect your friendly t30 to do 750, but he does 400 since he is still on the 120mm. Stuff like that could potentially screw you over.

Exactly!

Like playing a low tier (say tier 5 or 6) Light Tank with a 75%-80% crew and stock turret. Would you expect that scout to spot for you/your team OP??? I don't think so.

I don't expect any light to actually do their job.

I don't expect anything from anybody... that way I'm never disappointed, this attitude of mine is just one of the reasons I love the game so much.

It's hardly the worst thing players announce at the start of a battle. Would you rather hear, "This game is rigged. We lose. I'm gone"?

yep, the way the game is now, Heavies can out spot them in higher tiers, so why care about what they can no longer do?

I always look at announcements of being stock as an excuse to suck.  Another view though could be that they are pretty much saying they might not be able to carry their full weight and could use some help.

Whatever the case may be, I don't find it helpful because it won't impact my play, but it might be helpful to those players who do adjust.  Or it might be discouraging to those players who might be hoping to get carried.

I don't rely on any team member. As far as being stock goes that doesn't matter to me either.  I will help teammates that are tipped or stuck as well as diverting attention to myself so they can limp into cover. But I don't expect team work, good strats or even communication (intelligent). It is a 1 v 29 game for me.

Had a dude in a Churchill tell me "Sorry, I'm stock." After he pulled out in front of 3 enemy heavies and a TD that I was playing peekaboom with and got deleted, I asked him if the stock tank only had forward gears.

Never a good thing to read: Sorry guys, my top tier T29 has the 76mm gun.

1. Its not a "shortcoming".. keep your elitist [edited]to yourself

2. It helps your teammates understand what you are capable of, a stock T29 for example will perform VERY differently then a fully upgraded one. This goes especially true for scout class tanks.

there are a lot of weak complaints in this forum.  This OP is one of them.
