Why bother trying to hit the Soviet tank that is 50 meters in front of you when you can hit the paper armor "second line" tank that is at 100 meters behind?

Thanks in advance

You have not been the first to come up with that.

Why should armed insurgents, or armed forces operating outside of command, attack a 65 tonne AFV made from the tracks up to withstand the brunt of frontal attack, armed with well over ten thousand rounds of assorted ammunition.  Would you even need to ask a band of insurgents why?

Why not attack the 6x6 navi deuce and half and 5 tonnes instead, that don't even like rifle bullets nevermind shells or rockets, that commonly refuel, resupply, and ferry troops

You take the guns out that you can. If you cannot take the heavy armored out choose the next best target. Especially in 3/5/7 where you are bottom tier people need to understand that your tank has a reverse gear. Run and reposition is nothing to be ashamed off. Let the big boys duel it out and support accordingly.

Because focus fire wins games faster.

It's the guys in the back that get the shots need to get rid of them.

I know that is not your point but maybe try a different example.

No need. Hit the paper tank.
