Howdy ladies and gents!

Prior Parts of Series:

USA

GERMANY

There is a point that I have spent the past few weeks hammering over and over. This point being: that for ALL players, newbies and veterans alike, that it is very important to consider the benefits of Shared Research. Tanks that share module research with other tanks will help any player in their grinds. The grind speed of alternative branches in the same tree - or even the speed of researching in the same branch - can be sped up tremendously with shared research.

Today, I am going to cover the USSR Tech Tree. The TD and Light branches above Tier 5 share very little aside from radios and some engines. However, the Medium and Heavy branches share many guns, engines, and radios up to and even including Tier 9. As a beginner who may be looking for a tree to concentrate on because of shared research making it easier to get to higher tiers, then you should have no issue grinding to Tier 8 or 9 quickly in multiple branches, as long as you stick to the heavies and mediums.

I will only count shared researches if it is an upgrade from stock for the current tank as listed below. This will be a measure of how many tanks in the same tech tree (including the tank you are on) that you can upgrade and/or help speed up research on if you decide to fully upgrade these components. This is especially true if this is the furthest you have gone in the tech tree to this point and you have researched no other branches yet in this tech tree. Also, keep in mind, in a handful of cases, an upgrade/shared research on one tank is a stock module on the next tank up. For example, the stock engine on the T-150 is the top engine of the KV-1, so you can research the T-150 and get a 'free' engine upgrade before researching any other branches off of the KV-1.

Also of note is that it is not uncommon for 2 different modules to have the same name in many tech trees. For example, this often occurs with guns, where the only difference is one is for TD's, and the other is for Mediums/Heavies.

Nice work!

I'd love to see a recommended research patch, or maybe just another column in the table titled "Research/Unlock First"

Great work. This should be glued on top of forum or implemented in game info. Many can benefit of your effort. Well done!

I'm actually working with some clanmates (who are very good with coding) on developing a little program/plugin that will let you select a tank, and then see all the research it shares with what tanks, and if also notates if that module is stock on any other tank(s).  I'm no coder, myself, so all I am able to do is cheer on our smart guys.

There will be a sticky in the future (as per CabbageMechanic's request to me to PM him once I finish these) once I finish up all of the branches, and make a 'mega-thread' linking to all of these.
