I am a fairly new player to World of Tanks. I have less than 100 battles, but I have played about 2000 battles in Blitz and have a 55% WR, and I watch QuickyBaby on YouTube frequently, so I am far from a noob. I'm planning on getting the KV-1 first (to get used to WoT mechanics as opposed to Blitz's) and then grinding from the KV-1 to my first T10. The question is, should I go the T-150 path to get to the IS-4, or the KV-1S path to get to the IS-7 / Obj. 277 / Obj. 705A? Which of these four paths have the least "speed bumps"?

Thank you ahead of time for your answers

Don't worry about getting to tier ten worry about doing your part in every battle and learn from mistakes.

IS4 is a big speed bump. Wg said that its getting buffed some time this year but I'd go for the other line atm.

I've played every Russian heavy except for the newest 705A line and enjoyed them all. The T-150 line is more forgiving and easier to play overall. They're better armored and much much slower although the extra armor doesn't help much in the current gold spam meta or against many of the newer premium tanks. The KV-1S path leads to heavily used clan meta tanks (IS-3, Obj 277 and less frequently the IS7).

If you have the confidence and desire to be competitive, go down the KV-1S line. Good luck!

+1 to this.

Don't be in a hurry to get your tier 10s. Try and learn the game, what play style you enjoy, get to tier 5-6 in a few different lines and experiment.

A problem people have is that they rush up the lines to get the o-so-good tier 10, but get frustrated when they start failing in it, or don't like playing it.

And also other players don't like when people get to tier 10 with like 2k battle then don't know how to play at tier 10 and help the enemy team as much as their own.

Really though, stay in the mid tiers and find your niche, and if you think you've found it maybe do some exploring in the tier 8-9 range.

Because in reality tier 10 is crap and with the MM tier 9 is currently one of the best tiers to play at. And for some branches offer better tanks than their 10 counterparts (amx 30b, Leapard1, IS-4 to name a few)

PotatoLegend99 and BillDing1, thank you for your advice. As for everyone else, I asked for an answer for my question, not a lecture on how to play.

But thank you for the advice about tier 9 Babu_kun.

Object-277 or IS-7 depending on your playstyle are the best choice on the Russian tech tree.

But you fairly new just go with the flow watch Quickybaby and Dezgames and learn the ins and outs of the game before you worry about getting a tier X vehicle.

BTW best of luck to you!

Instead of giving the new guy some pointers the only remark you can make is of negative nature. Smile_sceptic.gif

Overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer. Warchild is probably the most prominent example of a Blitz player who switched to PC, and I remember he was about 1200 WN8 on PC when he first started, compared to superuni on Blitz. Not trying to be discouraging (I guess I am), but it's always better to be humble than naive.

QuickyBaby is a false prophet, he uses too much premium resources

T-34 to Obj 140 is a superior line

The IS-7 line is good safe bet for a new player.
