Weather and climate are different things...

Just sayin

That only seems to be true half the time. When it's hot it's called climate change. When it's record setting cold it's called weather.

The man with an impressive record of accurate long range weather forecasting also has a forecast for climate for the next few decades.

The clips in the following video are from a few years ago.

Piers is not the only one linking solar activity to weather and climate change.

Wavelet-based multifractal analysis on a time series of solar activity and PDO climate index
We clarify the relations among solar activity, geomagnetic activity, and climatic regime shift. The solar activity seems to influence the climatic regime shift.
https://www.scienced...273117717304118
https://www.jstage.j...8/_pdf/-char/ja

Piers is not the only one who knows a solar minimum is coming.

Solar Minimum is Coming
https://science.nasa...nimum-is-coming

NASA just sees it as a normal solar minimum but they don't have a good track record of forecasting solar activity.

"Greater-than-expected solar activity heated the outer layers of Earth's atmosphere and increased drag on Skylab.  A National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) scientist criticized NASA for using an inaccurate model for the second most-intense sunspot cycle in a century."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skylab

btw, That second most-intense sunspot cycle in a century stopped the global cooling that had been occurring from the 1940s through the 1970s.

Piers is not the only one predicting a grand solar minimum in the next few decades.

The Influence of Solar System Oscillation on the Variability of the Total Solar Irradiance
The model computes a new Dalton-type sunspot minimum from approximately 2025 to 2050 and a new Dalton-type period TSI minimum from approximately 2040 to 2065.

Wow!

"The deep freeze has commenced across the Upper Midwest with an AccuWeather RealFeel® Temperature of 75 degrees below zero Fahrenheit reported at Grand Forks, North Dakota, on Tuesday morning. The worst is yet to come for other parts of the Midwest" - Accuweather

I'm shivering just thinking about being out in that.

According to the latest news, the Polar Vortex is caused by "misplaced Moroccan heat".

Block Quote

Judah Cohen is a winter storm expert for Atmospheric Environmental Research. He says it all started with misplaced Moroccan heat. Meteorologists watched last month when the normally super chilly air temperatures 20 miles above the North Pole rapidly rose thanks to that southern warm air.

So basically, it is the Moroccan's fault.  If they would learn to keep track of their heat and place it where it is suppose to be place, we wouldn't have this problem.

'Polar vortex' are not new and have been around for as long as the planet has had weather. The term is new though so some people think its a new weather pattern since there is much more data available from all the nifty new high tech instruments used to observe the weather now and there is more talk of it by weather forecasters.

"The great tragedy of science -- the slaying of a beautiful hypothesis by an ugly fact." - Thomas Huxley

Record Cold Forces Rethink on Global Warming
The recent weather is a stark reminder that a colder world is a much greater threat than a warmer one. While governments plan for warming, all the indications are that the world is cooling. And, contrary to the proclamations of climate activists, every single year more people die from the cold than from the heat.

Well to be fair some of those minds are still hooked on msm and they haven't yet realized that they have been lied to for decades by them. However thankfully those minds are fewer and fewer as the msm continues to tank in the popularity dept. Last time I checked the msm in its entirety be it online rags or cable news or network news reach barely 8% of the population. On a good night Fox which is the leader only reaches a few million and CNN and the rest far far less. So basically I think there are many many more people now that reject this global warming hoax than believe it but these forums do seem to have a small concentration of the sheeple who do still believe the msm distilled into a nice tidy group we can make fun of.

The New American.  :great::great:

China has a long recorded history so they know that during grand solar minimums their agricultural areas suffer from drought which might be why they are expanding their food production outside their borders.

The French Polynesian government has formally approved the terms for the construction of a $US320 million Chinese fish farm on Hao atoll in the Tuamotu group.

The company Tahiti Nui Ocean Foods, which was formed in 2014 as a subsidiary of the Chinese Tian Rui group, chose Hao in part because its runway is long enough to accommodate planes which can freight the fish directly to China.

https://www.radionz....-deal-finalised

I think they've also worked out a deal for fish production with the Maldives.
