Howdy Tankers,

During the holidays, I acquired a lot of new (BIA) tankers and that afforded me the opportunity to move some of my other crews around.  If you don't know this already, if you have a let's say "Commander" with  the Situational Awareness skill and you move him to another tank that has a Radio Operator, that SA skill will go dark, i.e. become useless.  The darkness lets you know that particular skill isn't working - which is helpful. However, if you move a Gunner from a Heavy Tank to a turretless TD with the Snapshot Skill, or one with DeadEye to an SPG (that only shoots HE) - NEITHER goes dark even though neither will work on those particular tanks (at least that's my understanding).

Is it possible to make those skills/perks go dark for tanks too?  Is this something that would be helpful to the players?

Thoughts? Comments? Criticisms?

Thank you for your time.

Aren't they planning some sort of work on skills for this year?

Hey bud, you're right about Deadeye (doesn't work on anything that fires HE, not just SPG's), but I'm fairly sure Snapshot still works on tanks without a turret.  It just decreases the bloom within the gun arc.

Yes, I'd like to see any skill/perk that doesn't work on a tank, go dark.

Is there any way to verify this?  The skill says "during turret rotation" so silly me, I just <assumed> that it wouldn't work.  If the Snapshot skill decreases the bloom AT ALL on turretless TDs then it's worth keeping for me.

Oh, and you're right, DeadEye won't work on Japanese heavies like the Type 5 - ALL HE baby!

PS - Nice tags BTW.  Love having you in Y0L0 with me.

You can see it working on tanks.gg:  https://tanks.gg/tank/jgpz-e-100?k=8 (also other topics about it)

Oh this campaign.... need sleep.  Having super early meetings with Singapore this week.  They're 13 hours ahead of me, so there's no good time, but apparently they think 5am is a good time.  I'm not a morning person to begin with, but late campaign nights are turning me into a zombie.  I am known for saying yolo in real life, so it's fitting these are my tags :)

Same thing happens with situational awareness as it is on commanders in some tanks and radiomen in other tanks...

I think they should re-work perks, skills and equipment...do something that kind of combines the best parts of WoT and Armored Warfare. I like for the most part how AW did equipment...lot more variety and a lot more consistent-ish over tanks...

Snapshot works on my SPGs and my wider arc Casemate TDs -- unless I'm just getting lucky more often than not -- which, I believe, is the fair description of Snapshot, that you get more hits using it than not?

I have Snapshot in my AT-2 and Bishop and believe me, it seems to work.

I'm not sure about how to make Skils/Perks "Tank Relevant" in this case.  I mean, that would take a fair amount of changes to the whole Skills/Perks progression ladder as I see it.  I think the way it is now is not great, but it's what it is.  Without some sort of complete rework to how they operate and how they are acquired I don't know what else you could do.

Yeah, I've moved away from the Snapshot perk since that appears to work on everything.  But for DeadEye, I don't think it would take much to make that skill go dark for tanks that only shoot HE - but I'm no programmer/engineer.

But you should make that #3 shell the #1 shell on the KV-2! :)

Obviously, not every word, I tend to skim a lot ;)

Sorry...

But, my main point was...

I think they should re-work perks, skills and equipment...do something that kind of combines the best parts of WoT and Armored Warfare. I like for the most part how AW did equipment...lot more variety and a lot more consistent-ish over tanks...crews are a lot more consistent in AW as well...

One thing that sucks about WoT is how off kilter some tank lines are in terms of crews. Some tanks have two loaders, some one, some have two radio men (believe it or not), some have one radio man, some have no radio men, and some of those things and many more change within lines making it quite hard to train crews well and consistently in all nations...

What I would really luv to see WG add to WoT is changing crew nationalities...I would pay 500 gold per crew member to move nations and reset skills...crew training is a real pain in the butt to get multiple good 4+ skill crews...some nations have terrible crew trainers, especially if your like me and prefer to free xp up lines skipping the really crap tanks as much as possible instead of playing through them...

I have snap shot on all my spg's, as every little bit helps to reduce aim time and reload time. So yes, snap shot is a bonus to spg's and I would assume TD's too. May not be like a huge bonus, but every little bit helps.
