Several of the low tier tanks such as the BT series are based off of the Christie design that allowed for high speed travel with or without the tracks in place.  How long will it be before WG introduces a Christie based tank that can switch between the 2 travel modes?

Getting some more Christie tanks into the game is quite possible, but I don't see them including an option to switch them to trackless drive mode. That mode was used for long distance road travel, not battle. Plus actually switching over required a good amount of time to pull the tracks off or mount them back on.

Since when did any sense of realism matter in this game?

But it also takes time to repair tracks that have been blasted to bits.... soooooo

EDIT: Also all them idler wheels getting abused

Yeah, like fixing an engine or a gun barrel with a hole in it in the middle of a battle!

There is still some realism in the game. We aren't driving laser armed hover tanks yet.

Yeah. They could make it ridiculously fast like track repairs if they wanted to. But I still don't think its worth while to gain a little more straight line speed with piss poor off road maneuverability. Many better things for the programmers to spend their time on.

Does the UDES already do this?
