Howdy Boom Jockies!

The Winners for January From the Forge Contest can be found HERE

For the new folk:

Players send in some creations, they get voted on, and prizes go out. Creations we are looking for is anything World of Tanks themed created by our players. Some examples include pasta portrait of a Progetto Tank, Kit bashing a World of Tanks model to use in a popular table top game, or something a little more involved like making a pedal power tank car that shoots fireworks. (Please make that last one come true.)

We will be doing some searches through our creative Forum Threads and gathering  entries for the first three weeks of every month. What I mean by "gather" is finding a bomb-diggity piece of art and requesting the creator if they would like to enter it into the contest. The last week will be put up to a community wide vote for Mystery Prize Packages including bonds, boosters, tanks, gold, and credits!

While the searches are happening by our team it's not the only way to get your creation discovered. Players can email their machinations to us at From_The_Forge@Wargaming.net.

HEADS UP!

This Month I would like to Emphasize the Valentine's Day theme such as Candy, Chocolate, or Flowers. Lemme see how creative you can get!

Well, here's an old project, and I do mean old. I built this up in the 1970s. It's a 1/16 scale Tamiya 105 M4 Sherman. It's one of their first RC tanks and yes it still runs. I am having problems with some of the road wheels but then it is 40 years old. I tell people that it's missing all the stuff on the front because of some HE shells. And for those of you with sharp eyes, those games on the shelf in the back of the picture are old Avalon Hill war games from the 70s.

As a small point, the tracks that Tamiya sells with the new version of this kit are much easier. In those days the tracks came as individual parts. There are 7 parts for each set of pads. It took hours to put that track together and then I had to stake all the pins so that the links would not fall apart. Now the new tracks come as an assembly.

Missing/Hidden Rule: Entries must be physically made.

That's what I noticed from the December & January Winners. All physically made. Haven't seen any digital entries if there were even any, & even if there was, it wouldn't make the cut since its not physical.

I made art of the Lanchester Armoured Car :)

(the tank/car was in the 100 Years of Tanks event)

Spoiler

I didn't see Valentine's Day themed at first, so I changed it:

Here is my 1/35 scale Italeri M-24 Chaffee model, which depicts the vehicle in the US 1st Armored Division in Italy, 1945. I bought the kit in the Boxing Day sale. It took me about 6 weeks to finish. The accessories are from Italeri and Tamiya; a couple of them are aftermarket resin products. The kit doesn’t come with tank crew (did I check the “purchase without crew” box when I bought it?). I recruited the commander from an old Tamiya tank kit (I forget which one, probable one the their M4 Sherman kits) with some conversions (a.k.a. retraining in WoT) for fitting in the tank.

Happy Gaming! Happy Modelling!
