Seeing as Microsoft stopped supporting XP in 2014 and Vista in 2017, it's not surprising that other companies are also doing the same.

Kind of sucks for those current users though. I can't see there being that many out there nowadays anyway.

A few are unhappy as they have older pc barely able to run dx9 and wot on low.

Saying that win10 is effectively free since they no longer require activation for full use and that will upgrade most into dx11 though a few might still need a new gpu but those are fairly cheap too as a gt 1030 is ~$60 if you catch a discount.

Simple... switch to Win7, a much better OS for free or at most super cheap.

Dunno.... I liked 8 better, and after getting used to it 10 is my favorite.... But getting used to it was a rough road...

What really bugs me is that nobody is supporting DOS 2.1 anymore.

Sadly Windows 7 will be killed also pretty soon - good times have to end. Running 8.1 strongly since '13 and never had a single problem, while the short-lived W10 installation crippled my machine. So 8.1 with Classic Shell all the way.

The initial win10 launch was butthole for sure especially if you used it to upgrade from a previous os. Lots of botched installs. All that however has long been solved and win10 easily is far more powerful and efficient than the earlier os and will install and run on damn near anything. Just gotta turn off all the snooper stuff.

I like 7 too but I just built a new PC and Intel no longer supports Windows 7. Meaning if you get a new MB there are no drivers available and you are forced to Windows 10.

That said the transition has been painless,,,

Run a program called O&O Shutup 10 Karl. You customize it to stop whatever you want.
