I dont really do reviews often, but I felt compelled to express my opinion on these tanks.

feel free to bash my crappy review

I couldn't be bothered with the low tier stuff so I free xp'd to tier 8 am lynx and purchased all the top modules.

(tl:dr) for every section is in ( )

Speed - (fast, but not fast enough)

- I will admit, it is pretty fast and reaches its top speed of 80 km/h within seconds, which is good. The only bad part is that 80 km/h is not good enough. the maps are small, and tanks with fast shell velocity only have to point and click the moment they see you are going straight for even a second, and you can't really maneuver much as you lose quite a bit of speed. Every small piece of rubble you hit slows you down significantly, if you hit two or three objects in a row you become slower than a regular light tank.

maneuverability - (bad)

I just had a match on ghost town in my skorp.g and the enemy had a ebr 90. He was a good 250 m away but auto aiming on him was enough to remove 80% of his health with one HE shot. That basically summarizes the expirience of driving these things: it's catch 21 : in order to scout things you need to get suicidally close, but to get close you need at least a large hp pool, armor, or maneuverability to avoid the shell. the lynx loses all of these advantages when it gets within 350ish m of an enemy

gun - (awesome)

The 90 mm is basically a laser pointer, and the HE has very good penetration and alpha. Overall very solid and accurate, especially with v-stabs.

survivability - (horrid)

If EVEN 1 OF YOUR WHEELS GOES OFF AND YOU DONT HAVE REPAIR KIT, YOU ARE DONE. the turn angle becomes nonexistent, you are basically limited to going in a straight line at 45 km/h. if 2 go off.. well, might as well say your prayers.

view range - (horrid)

with coated optics, 100% crew and Situational awareness my view range is 368 meters, they will see you LONG before you even have a chance at spotting them.

So far I have 2 methods of playing the lynx

1- lighnin' mqueen your way to an early dip in the ground close to the enemies where your team can support you and prevent themw from shooting you, occasionally taking peaks at them

2- stay in the back until mid game, then release your fury. It is much easier to maneuver and dodge when only half the enemy team is left.

recommended equipment

- coated optics (must)

- vstabs (optional, helps a lot with full speed shooting) (replace with enhanced suspension for survivability)

- repair toolbox (must, you need to get moving asap)

recommended consumables (in that order)

-large repair kit

-large medkit

-small repair kit

having 2 repair kits is necessary, no negotiations on this. dont even bother with food.

despite it's shortcomings, this is one of the most hilarious experiences i have had in WOT. Wheeled vehicles are a deadweight to the team on city maps, but in maps like malinovka they are real beasts and fun to play.

Great review!  I've yet to try it out, but I appreciate the insight!

Also, interesting tags btw.

agreed, I was also thinking food and vents > toolbox and small repair kit.

This idiotic move by WG may drive a larger percentage of players away from the game than any other move they've made.  Let's give them far too much armor and firepower for its type so they can survive shots from armored vehicles.

How would repair crew skill factor into this? Anybody running a repair trained crew?

Wouldn't the help with view range/camo from food & vents be worth it?
