Ahhh that stinks, thx for informing me. Hopefully it wont take them to long for testing and maybe we can get it in a couple of months or so. Least we have Frontline coming next month!

Posting what I posted in a different thread about the EU article.

 

These changes, like the original template match maker, are good in theory. Sure, overall across an entire server tier 8s will see slightly fewer bottom tier matches and a few more as top tier, but it doesn't fix the actual problem.

 

There was no mention of any kind of check so an individual player is guaranteed to at least sometimes be top tier (and I'm not counting same tier here). There is nothing to prevent a player from being bottom tier constantly. With out any kind of check like that, I really don't see this fixing anything for the majority of players. It's just more ways to get the same thing, except now you're a little more likely to get a same tier match, which is not the same as being on top.

 

I remember the old days of +3, +4, and +5 MM (and worse; I remember my first ever match in the beta had my Leichttraktor driving next to a Maus [I was playing solo, btw]). I don't mind fighting higher tier tanks sometimes (key word there, "sometimes" ); It's just not fun to do all the time.

Guys... is not only a matter of tank tier! you need to look also:

 

1. Player level: Very often you find the best players (stats) on the same team:

  • Better players have better developed crews, more skills
  • That lead to overwhelming (15-0, 15-1, 15-2) results and 2 - 4 minutes battles
  • Just distribute the good players on different teams
  • If they are on platoon, give them lower stats partners to balance!

2. Tank and developement 

  • Is very different to play in a stock vs fully developed tank
  • not developed crews also affect player performance

I don't mind +/-2 and +/- 1 should be fine too.

Skill based MM has too many issues to take it seriously.

I don't care how many other bottom tier tanks there are.

 

I just want to be top tier at least 33% of the time.  (66% for T9 and obviously 100% for T10)

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if the match maker actually worked NO team would lose 15-1 or win 15-1 , it would be closer.

 

I put in a "ticket" about the terrible blow-out losses and they said "It makes the game fun"  to quote Col. Potter from MASH   "HORSE HOCKEY !!"

 

It is NO fun to get slaughtered 15-1 and it is NO fun to win 15-1 especially if you are in a slow tank and never get to the fight before it's over.

 

Go ahead...BASH ME....call me whatever you wish , skilled players do it in the in game chat all the time , to any player that is lower skilled than they are.

 

This game has gone to **** in the last year , and with the addition of the "cars" that run at 95kph , it's worse than ever.

 

SKILL BASED MM or lose the new players who are the life-blood of the game.

The players who have been complaining the past year will not be happy if it goes to +1/-1. They want to be top tier every game or they will continue to complain.

They want to be top tier every game or they will continue to complain.... Being 80% of the matches in a tier VIII on the bottom end surely sucks ba11$. So some sort of mm change is really needed!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  Even with skill based match making, there will always be 15-1 and 1-15 battles.  It's inevitable because of the snowball effect.

 

We already have Skill Based Matchmaking with Ranked Battles, and there's still blow outs all the time, which is proof that it makes little difference.

A simple question. 

 

There are only 20000 people in NA server and 400000 people in RU server. The test will be running on the RU server and the final result is supposed to fit the RU server. How dose this new match maker work perfectly on NA?

I don't have a ton of faith in WG's math skills, but dynamic templates sound better than a static one...and honestly at least they're trying something new; it would be hard for it to be much worse.

while you are fixing match maker please have your map dev team ADD ALL old maps back instead of 1 crap map at a time that is not even on the top of the list of maps we want back, Also remove ENSK from high tiers and MINES, and for the love of tanks REMOVE Paris, Studcrapski and Minsk... Or just make them 3 maps only seen at lower tiers as they are crap for high tiers and god awful designed!!!!!

Just note that 5 5 5 will be worse than 3-5-7 , please don't ever do that!

Just remove +2 -2 please, most of us are begging for it and welcoming longer que times!

That or be sure that we get a balanced amount of top and bottom. But in that case, 3-5-7 would be preferred!

Agreed.  The world of professional sports proves this happens all the time.  So does Skirmishes where the mm tries to match similar ELO clans against each other. I like the concept of skill based mm but translating that into something workable in the real world will likely be insurmountable.  Having said that, it would be great for WG to think through how to make the newer player experience better when they are grinding through lines without all the crew skills, equipment etc that more experienced players have.  If someone is simply better than me and kicks my butt, so be it.

 

No one enjoys being on the losing end of a blowout but those are relatively rare and you can move on to the next battle which is likely different.  Tier mm is another thing entirely.  Get tired of being bottom tier and being significantly disadvantaged in the battle?  Will it be different next battle?  Not likely while +/- 2 tier mm exists.  Wouldn't everyone agree that same tier mm is ideal (unless you really need the ego boost of beating up on lower tier tanks)?  Isn't this part of the reason players like frontline?  I recognize that queue wait times might not allow same tier but I refuse to believe +/- 1 tier mm wouldn't work for much of the day until they at least try it.

All I ever want is just a chance to win, and not by 15-1.  For me, MM has got to even out the experience gap when forming the teams.  Do you want a red (tomato) IS 7 leading the way?  Do you want 7 red teammates when the other side has one or two?  Just use the WOT personal rating as a guide to get an average of each side, and even them out!  Maybe a team can win with a tomato IS-7 if it has a Unicom Bat Chat.

The queue time for ranked battles wasn't bad, it wouldn't be hard have the same number of top tier players and tomatos on each team.

Well of course there are a lot more noobs playing higher tiers, what did you think was gonna happen by giving so many boosts to people almost effortless. Now tier 10s are the new tier 1s.
