Here's a quick overview of the tank.
Pros:
- Overall better gun than most Tier 8 light tanks.
- Very good shell velocity on standard APCR, great shell velocity on premium APCR
- Premium APCR instead of HEAT as on the regular Bulldog means that you get the advantage of going through spaced armor
- Above-average standard and Premium penetration
- 9 degrees of depression, 19 elevation
- Some spaced armor down the sides which may stop HE shells from penetrating some side shots (Although not all of the side is protected)
- 10% chance of fire is much lower than most other lights
Cons:
- Large profile, no armor
- Somewhat sluggish to traverse around for a light tank, although it's still going to be quicker to turn than most mediums
- 390m View Range, while very good, isn't quite up to the same 400m as you'd expect from a Bulldog
- Has the expected problem with many Chinese scouts - The fuel tanks and the ammo rack are easily hit, so fires / ammo racks are certainly a possibility.
- Fairly poor camo rating for a light tank.
Compared to the regular Bulldog, this tank has an overall better gun and lower chance of fire. However, it sacrifices a little bit of mobility, 1 degree of gun depression and 10m of View Range.
It costs the standard $30.99 USD that has come to be expected from non-bundled light tanks, which means it's equally priced to all the other tanks.
Rating: 7/10
Worth it? Maybe. It's an overall decent light tank, well-balanced to other scouts. Its main advantage is the gun performance, seeing as the tank has better DPM, penetration and shell velocity than most Tier 8 light tanks. However, the Bulldog isn't a very good scout. Its camo rating is poor, it's a large target, and it doesn't turn quickly enough to duck and weave on a dime.
The LT-432 is a better tank without a doubt, but compared to the other tanks we've seen? The M41D could certainly be worth a buy if you enjoy light tanks, especially if you've enjoyed the ones with better gun depression. However, if your cup of tea was more along the lines of the WZ-132, don't expect anything similar with this tank. Even though they're both Chinese lights, they have completely different playstyles.
Crew training also isn't very relevant with this tank, as the Chinese light tree plays completely differently than the M41D, and the Chinese light tank line isn't considered very competitive after Tier 8. That being said, the Type 64 also has the same issue of playing like an American tank rather than the actual Chinese tech tree. Type 64 is a better value, but the Type 64 won't make nearly as many credits as this tank. Type 64 can play in Strongholds, while the M41D can play in both Strongholds and Frontline. If you haven't purchased the Type 64 yet, the M41D might be worth it. If you have, then it depends how much you enjoy the light tank playstyle and whether or not you plan on playing Frontlines.
