Sorry, I am not talking about War Gaming.

I have to have surgery at the end of this month to have a bone spur (Haglund's deformity) removed on my left heel. I will be off work for 8 - 12 weeks. I should have a lot of tanking time on my hands unless the pain medication make me to loopy. Then I guess I will have to play arty.

While getting all my ducks in a row, I asked our HR department how will I go about paying my insurance while I am off. Will I pay each week? Can I pay once a month? Do I have to pay in advance or will they just double up each week when I return until I have paid all the debt back? What she told me next brought a tear to my eye.  She said that they will pay for my insurance while I am off.

Now that's a GREAT company.

l have osgood-schlatters, in my right knee,  to which my sports-minded youth left me with a bony tubercle.

Knee surgery is extremely frightening though, even if it did reward me with time to play tanks.

Tell them you will be back to work the day after the surgery and that they have to accommodate you under the Americans with Disablities Act.   Or consult a attorney or a non profit. Depending on yourState you may be able to get some sort of coverage.
