If we really want new players to play WOT; then we have to be nice to each other, it's common sense.

2ndAD2015MPD (2/10/2019 11:28:16 AM) 15 players per battle decide whether you win or not in WOT: 1 divided by 15 = 0.06666666666

2ndAD2015MPD (2/10/2019 11:30:35 AM) .06 is your affect on every battle

2ndAD2015MPD (2/10/2019 11:31:42 AM) .06 does not carry anything

This game is troll central. In fact if you want to find most of the most harassing bunch of low life trolls; the internet has ever possessed, WOT has them all. What is the solution? Start banning account owner's based on how badly they troll. It's the only way to change the face of WOT. Until then this will never be the greatest video game; ever to grace the internet and the PC owner's of the world. I have noticed attempts on the part of the WOT player's to be more friendly, more human; more real. Keep up being real to each other WOT; that is the right thing to do. If we really want this game to soar; like it was meant to do, we will be honest and truthful with each other.

If you do not believe that people could troll relentlessly; a pure in heart artist; just wanting to freely entertain fellow tank fans, read these pages:

I dunno, I don't see a whole lot of unfriendly acts here anymore.   Most of the super toxic ones got the ban hammer and there's a lot less trolling.

All these links resolve to the main forum page, so I'm not really sure what your intent here is.

His intent is to troll.   Ironically or not I can't tell.

It's ironic that he used an image of trolls from South Park where they turned out to actually be the good guys

If someone gets trolled, there is normally a reason for it I find. Be it their attitude, or something else.

It should only strike a nerve if their words seem truthful.........(reference to the movie Roadhouse "is she?"

Personally i enjoy messing with them so their doctor increases their high blood pressure / mental tranquilizer meds.

For someone complaining about trolls and about the forum being unfriendly... you complain an awful lot on these forums.  An awful lot.

Maybe you wouldn't run into so many people being unfriendly if you stopped being so relentlessly negative.

I write a lot of posts here.  I don't get that many trolls, but when I do, I just ignore them (or I poke back at them).  I appreciate a wide variety of input from folks and with that comes some negative.  But I'm not looking for validation of my person here. I'm looking for commentary on my observation or thoughts mostly about the game.  I get a lot of feedback :great:

If you think WOT is bad, don’t play battlefield v. Most players in chat should be on medication

Reponses like this always bother me. Its saying since our community isn't worse than others, we are justified in hate filled remarks. Lets be better than the other forums.

If you were gaming on line in the late 90s or early 2000s you would probably need therapy because it ain't that bad or at the most just as bad.

I've been online since 1986 and since 1987 at home.  I've seen a LOT of things over that time from BBs to current.  Chat rooms, group chat, AOL internet chat, game chats, MUDs and so forth.

Has it gotten worse or better in all that time?  It depends.

There are all manner of formats for communicating to each other in so many different venues that one would be hard pressed to identify and quantify them all without seeking a doctorate in online communications psychology and social trends (that's a free idea for you communications or psych majors out there).

Even so, I'd say, from my personal experience on political, game related, science related, regular FB, photographic and 'off the grid' forums that it is pretty decent on the whole.  The number of trolls to decent people has always been quite a small ratio.

I would never offer that, because it's everywhere to some degree and it's no worse here (wherever that 'here' might be) that it's no big deal.  I have always been of the belief and opinion that one must BE the example if one would like to see it improve.  This has been my effort ever since I got online.  I've been online since before it was called, "The Internet."  I started when it was still called the World Wide Web and I conversed with many folks who were completely technically or scientifically oriented and believe me, some of those guys can be real tools in no less stupendous fashion as some of the moronic simpletons that frequent game forums who are here for nothing more than playing a game.

I believe that, if you would like to see it get better, then you must (not optional) be an ACTIVE PART of that improvement.  You cannot simply wait for it to happen.  Too many people think that, if you ignore it, it will get better and this is the same recipe to why our society isn't improving at a drastic rate -- too many are all too willing to wait for someone or something else to 'make it better.'  Pretty sure the Dark Ages started off in this same lack of momentum to improve mindset.

If your active part played is nothing more than NOT ADDING TO IT, you are helping to change things.  IN this instance, the failure to add fuel to the fire of toxic behavior is a successful stratagem for improvement of your experience.  I believe we can do at least this.

If you wish to take a more active part, then one thing you can do is to recognize when someone is being obtuse or purposely dense in order to achieve the objective of passive-aggressive trolling.  Call the troll on their behavior and then go no further.  Most trolls thrive on the attention they get and like any child that has not received their 'attention quotient' will take negative attention over no attention at all.  This is where we get the phrase, "Don't feed the trolls."  If they are not rewarded, even with negative responses, they soon tire of their actions that net no 'get a jolt' response and will either move on or -- possibly -- change.

Most importantly, if you purposely place yourself in the position of not being negative as well, you provide the potential troll with little to no foothold in your community.  Shunning is an effective method to deal with a trolling mentality.  So is patience and kindness.

As a former moderator of a Triple A title game some years ago, I discovered that being the example is the single BEST METHOD to reduce toxicity.  I even got thank you responses with my "punish in private, praise in pubic" methods on those forums -- from those I admonished for poor behavior.  Oddly, it seems, many folks accused of being trolls are not purposeful trolls.  They simply have no real clue as to what is really expected of them and -- due to lack of enforcement in many cases -- act the way they do without knowing that they are the ones causing the disruption in the way they are acting.

You've seen clueless players out there in the matches.  How 'clued in' do you suppose some of those people are when they interact here in the forums if there is no definite set of expectations placed upon them?

Since I have been on these forums, I have tried very hard to be a good example.  I have failed from time to time and I own those failures.  The trick is to not let the failures stop you from continuing to attempt to be better at it.

Hang in there and be excellent to each other!

GL, HF & HSYBF!
