For reasons which should be obvious once you think it through, 24 hour mission resets are a TERRIBLE idea.  Absolutely awful idea.

Let's say I play 1 or 2 hours most nights of the week.  Not untypical for most casual WoT'rs.  I start a mission in a chain the first night, and I get it done 30 minutes later.  If it has a Win condition for multiple battles, maybe it's 60 minutes later.  Now the mission clock starts ticking 24 hours.  The next night I log on at the same time.  I have to wait for the next mission to become available.  I finish that one 30 minutes later...  Now I have to wait almost until my allotted playing time is up before I can start.  And I might not finish it before I have to log off.  What's worse, the next day the 24 hour reset period starts after when I usually play.

Now, compound that by having to complete a set number of these daily missions within a set number of days.  Do you see the problem?

Never, ever do 24 hour mission resets again, please.  They are customer-unfriendly.

The missions reset with the server, they don't mean 24hrs after you complete it, but once every 24hrs when the server resets.

Important rules regarding these missions:

  • You must wait 24 hours after a successfully completed mission before you can start the next one, so start ASAP!

No you don't, none of the missions I had to wait 24hrs for. I completed day 3 around Midnight and I can do day 4 right now. They are tied to the 24hr server reset, so you can only do one per 24hr cycle.

Except that today's Day 5 mission for the 75 Anniversary isn't active.  The speculation is that it's on a 24 hour timer.  With that possibility, I posted this.

Supposedly it is an error and people are recommending sending in a ticket in case they have to do a manual fix on each account.

20,000 manual fixes?  Can you see them doing that?  Me neither.  If it's a bug and not a 24 hour timer, they will have to fix it in code.
