So I keep seeing people post about grinding their tier eights in Frontline mode. I didn’t play Frontlines back when it was originally released. Is there some sort of experience booster or bonus associated with Frontlines (aside from the tiers and prestige points) or is it just a fun mode that uses tier eights which just makes the grind go by faster?

Always top tier and you make pretty good xp, the ranks give bonuses.

The overall flow is just different. Respawning and trying to figure out where to position your tank to help the team get a win takes some time but it really gets the gears turning. At the end of the week you may be exhausted but satisfyingly so....

Boosters also apply in Frontlines.

Rev up that XP for your crews !

I'm also wondering whether to play. I've finally gotten decent after 2k games. Additional general commentary great.

Block Quote

  1. Players pay once per destroyed vehicle, irrespective of how many times it was destroyed during a battle. The repair cost will be deducted only once.
  2. Players will only pay for consumables and shells that they have used in battle. The main cost is charged only for replenishing shells and consumables when a vehicle is destroyed.
  3. Credits are earned according to similar formulas, by analogy with Random Battles. There is a minor difference: considering the long battle duration and the possibility of using a considerable number of vehicles, we introduced adjusting coefficients to prevent players from losing Credits. The mode is interesting and we want players to focus only on the gameplay.
  4. Experience is earned by analogy with Random Battles, plus additional coefficients for the achieved ranks. Experience is distributed among all vehicles that participate in a battle depending on the performance on each vehicle.
  5. Personal Reserves, Battle Payments reserve, Premium vehicles: all these bonuses are applicable in the Frontline mode.

You can rent a T-44 FL for credits to give you an additional Tier 8 to use.

You can rent a premium tank for a small amount of gold (that gets pooled in case you want to buy one of the premiums).

If you go in game, you can select Frontline mode now.  It will bring up a menu/video that covers all aspects of it.  Worth a look before giving it a go.  Fairly in-depth, but you'll pick up on it fast.

It puts Grand battles to shame.  It's very well done.

Fun mode with no 3/5/7 bottom tier nonsense is the primary reason.  Especially for the bad tanks.

I turned off Grand Battles within the first week they were released. I think they’re absolute sh!t. But I’m looking forward to trying out Frontlines.

Personal reserves should be worth doing.

A Lot of people living of the dole being able to play all day, meanwhile this schmuck has to go to work, will play it this evening.

So this morning I kicked off the first series in FL with 3 Personal Reserves activated.

Ran 4 battles before they expired.

Checked the crew's progress and really could not see any "speed" at all.

Rand 2 more and in fact the crew progress appeared to equal the previous 4.

Moving up the levels may have some influence, but who knows.   I know this morning did not have a WOW moment in it.

What did stand out this morning was how slowly the levels were passed.

On the CT, it took 7 battles to hit level 30.    It wasn't really hard to make Lt. at least in most of those.

This morning hasn't been exactly inspiring.  After 6 battles I barely squeaked to level 6.    This might not be as easy as the previous FL or the recent CT FL were.

From an XP/time perspective you are actually better off just grinding random battles.   People see those big XP and credit numbers and think "wow, I'm really raking in the XP now".  They never consider the time spent.

If you decide to play you'll need a tier 8 vehicle. You can either rent or buy one. Just fyi I looked at your stats and if you decide to buy, you should get the T26E5 which is currently on sale and you could use your T29 crew with it.

My limited experience so far suggests to me that I need a mobile tank, not a TD that is vulnerable to being overran like a Swede. I would like to use it to gain EXP for T 8's that are not Elite as yet but haven't used any premium tanks so far. I have seen some Defenders and KV-5's. What are you bringing to the battlefield?

That part can be marginally true/correct.  I've made some stupid XP in FL mode with some tanks...more than I've ever gotten in standard randoms.

Plus, I know I will not see tier 10s.

It's a great way to grind tier 8's, especially the lackluster ones, since you never see 9's or 10's.

Nice to see someone looking up another player's stats for the purpose of being helpful.  +1!

off the dole, right?

Some people are just rich, others can play at work, even more can spell, but I guess schmucks get all the dirty work.

:D

I do wish I could turn off chat in Frontlines. There's always a few blackguards blaming/shaming their teams as they wonder what ever they'll do sitting in the back lines with nothing to shoot at as their flanks get taken. :harp::bush:

The most shameful griefers can't seem to realize the person they are insulting might not even speak English. Gotta love them!
