I was under the impression that each tank's XP and credits are only calculated based on what they each accomplished in battle.  Look at the breakdown of at the end of battle and you can see what each tank earned.  I don't see how playing other tanks helps the stock one, unless you spend money converting free XP, but you can also do that in pubs.

I haven't checked this year, but last time in Frontline on one of the battles there was around 1 minute left, and I realized I had forgotten to use my AMX 65t. I pulled out broadside to enemy, died, and respawned in with 65t. I started driving forward and map ended without firing a shot with it. I got Major that round, and got over 1k xp for the 65t that match. So you're getting quite a bit of xp for your rank. Assuming it works the same this time around.

Always top tier and you make pretty good xp, the ranks give bonuses.

Being bottom tier is better for xp. Damaging higher tiers is a xp bonus.

I remember getting top team xp in my Chaffee in tier 10 matches, by just getting a couple damaging shots against tier 10s.

What I like about Frontline is that the outcome as far as winning or losing is entirely irrelevant. It is basically a mode for casual, stress-free tier 8 play with some pretty good rewards. Basically, the opposite of the random battles tier 8 gaming experience.

Random battles works that way for me, stress-free.

Any ‘stress’ you feel playing a game, is all due to you. Not the game mode.

I am fully aware that not everyone brings a competitive approach to WOT.

This is probably a statistical anomaly, but 7 games played in total, and all were won by the offense. Of course, I played defense in 5 of those games.

Have people had trouble winning playing defense?

So this morning I kicked off the first series in FL with 3 Personal Reserves activated.

Ran 4 battles before they expired.

Checked the crew's progress and really could not see any "speed" at all.

Rand 2 more and in fact the crew progress appeared to equal the previous 4.

Moving up the levels may have some influence, but who knows.   I know this morning did not have a WOW moment in it.

What did stand out this morning was how slowly the levels were passed.

On the CT, it took 7 battles to hit level 30.    It wasn't really hard to make Lt. at least in most of those.

This morning hasn't been exactly inspiring.  After 6 battles I barely squeaked to level 6.    This might not be as easy as the previous FL or the recent CT FL were.

None of the values of the CT were correct. You got what, 200 credits for completing a tier? Anyway, it was just 100 Frontline experience per level, for all levels. In this year's actual frontline it takes I think 30500 experience to get to tier 30, and by tier 15 you'll only be at around 10000 experience, or about 1/3 of the way there. Would've been better to keep the amounts even, imo. That, and actually be transparent about it in the event overview and ingame UI, since it's considerably more than last year's requirements, see here: https://www.reddit.com/r/WorldofTanks/comments/appl6g/number_of_points_for_each_lvl_in_front_line/

I feel the same way.  There are some really broken LTs that get three perks and it makes the game unbearable.  Throw in the platoons of them and  you get triple arty hits, triple airstrikes and they cap in almost no time.  You're dead and waiting on a spawn while they are hitting the second zone in the three minutes of the game.  It's a very messed up and unbalanced mode right now.

I didn't know they allowed platoons this time around.  That would explain a lot.

off the dole, right?

Some people are just rich, others can play at work, even more can spell, but I guess schmucks get all the dirty work.

:D

I do wish I could turn off chat in Frontlines. There's always a few blackguards blaming/shaming their teams as they wonder what ever they'll do sitting in the back lines with nothing to shoot at as their flanks get taken. :harp::bush:

The most shameful griefers can't seem to realize the person they are insulting might not even speak English. Gotta love them!

:child:

I put a post-it note over the FL game chat.  Ain't nobody got time for that!

Yea I had a match last night and there was two clan platoons on the attacking team.  One was 2 LT 432s, and 1 ELCs and the other was all BCs, and of course they both ended up going to the center zone.  They had the first two zones capped and were in the back lighting up the main objectives in no time, it was one of the fastest frontline games I have played.

They allowed platoons last time.  That's the only way I play FL is with someone that at least has half a brain...

Yes, it's considerably more than last time.

Makes you wonder why the CT values were set as they were.   They weren't left over from last time.  So why not make them reflect what was about to be released....

Tired of playing a bunch of games and being on defense for all but 1 or 2. The game mode is only really fun in a platoon, otherwise it's a giant crapfest of people camping and looking for easy damage.

Hello all,

I've only been able to achieve level 5 in playing one match per day before curfew. I have switched tanks after being killed off instead of waiting for the allotted cooling off period. I haven't been paying attention to the EXP earned but, when the battle ends, does it go to the last tank you had in the game or divided among them? I do have a few non elite T-8's and would then focus on one if that is the case. Thank you.

Each tank you wind up playing accumulates all XP it earns in the battles.   If it gets into battle more than once, the amount it earned each time is added into it's total.

When the battle is over there are a number of screens that report the numbers.   In the Detailed report you can actually look at the sums for each tank.  The report comes up with the totals of all tanks, but clicking on each tank in the line that reports what tanks were used will get just that tanks stats, if you're interested.

The short answer is that each tank earns its own XP.
