I've played the T56 GMC for about 10 or so battles, and I've done decently in it. About 300 dmg per battle or so, and one I got 500 dmg, 6 kills, and an Ace Tanker.

My crew has gone up ***2%*** in those battles. How the heck do you train crews faster? I know about personal reserves, but I don't use them because they seem hard to get, like days of premium are. I am new and would appreciate any advice at all.

Low tiers are the hardest to train crews on because you dont earn as much XP per battle.

1) You can get a premium tank of the same nation and class to train your crews on as the premium earns extra crew XP per battle (as well as credits and a small amount of normal XP). *not all tanks in the line have the same crew set up. IE one tank may have a radioman while another tank does not.

2) Gold.  You can buy a 100% trained crewmen for 200 gold each.

3) Credits. You can train up to 75% with silver and retrain from another tank of the same class to 90% if they were previously 100% (I believe. Long time since doing it this way)

4) Some premium tank sales off 100% crews as part of the bundle. (make sure that it specifically says "100% trained crew"  in the item description.

Make sure your crew is being trained for current vehicle, I once made the mistake of not having them for that particular tank and nearly slit my wrists from depression and anger.

You buy a premium account and a premium tank and personal reserves. That is the only way unless you plan on playing the same tank for 100 battles.

1 Send money to WG for a premium tank of the same type and nation. Put your crew in it.

2 Send money to WG for a premium account to make earning XP faster

3 Send money to WG for gold so you can convert all your XP to free XP to be used to increase crew skills

4 Send money to WG to buy crew and free xp boosters

If you take part in the monthly scavenger you should have a ton of boosters by the end of the month to make credits and get bonus crew training.

Well, in the old days, before Uber T8 premium tanks (or many premium tanks at all...) we used to actually play the tanks. You started with a new tank, with the worst equipment, and you played as many games as it took until you got the first piece of upgrade equipment. You installed it, and you played some more. Eventually, your tank was maxed out tech wise, you learned a few things to improve your tanking skills, and your crew became more experienced.

I never pimped my crews with either premium time or tanks until a couple of years ago (just tanks-never bought time). When changing crew from one tank to another, at least use silver to make them 75%. Go gold and 100% if you can. Don't be in a rush to get to upper tiers-the game plays the same at T10 as it does at T5.

My advice? Play as much as you can. Focus on grinding to that next piece of equipment and finally maxing out your current ride. When you finally get there, you will be surprised to find that your crew has advanced quite well and you have amassed some silver to boot. Don't be so focused on the final goal of the game-the fun of this game is in playing it and learning it, not getting to the next tier.

You don't make a lot of XP at low tiers. Try to get your first skills then move up to tier 5 or 6 until you get your second, after you have two it's enough to  move up to tier 8, either you're going to be good enough or not, having a good crew won't make a huge difference if you don't play well to begin with. If you want to level them as fast as possible spend gold to retrain or move them to the next tank, get premium time, buy at least one premium trainer and play well.

1) Gold

2) Premium Time

3) Premium Tanks

4) Elite Tanks

5) Personal Reserves (they're easy to collect actually. Last month I had around 570. This month I'm at 642 and counting)

6) Referral Program (I wouldn't oppose recruiting you if you decide to make a new account)

7) Clan Boosters (basically clan's can create their own personal reserves that affect all members of a clan when activated)

8) WoT missions (like this weekend's x3 crew XP for victories. These missions usually occur a few times every month)

9) Grind a single tech tree line to tier 6 reusing and retraining the same crew for credits. Every line requires 50-65,000 XP to grind from tier 1 to 6. Now unless they changed it from my new player days, then every tier 1 tank starts with a 50% crew. It takes a little over 50,000 XP to train a crew member from 50-100% or 100,030 XP in total (the wot wiki has the exact value). So right before unlocking a tier 6 tank your crew will usually reach 100% or come very close to it just by focusing on grinding the tank line. Training the crew before then is a waste of time and most of the lower tiers don't need a full crew to play them well, not to mention most others are also playing without fully trained crews. Win or lose, you'll earn significantly more XP (so long as you play well) and credits at tier 5 than in the lower tiers. Tier 4 also works, but not as effectively as tier 5. Tier 6 also works, but an Elite tier 5 tank will be more effective most of the time, and it's silly to start grinding a tier 6 tank without at least one perk or skill in training on your crew.

Ultimately it's best to use a combination of all the above, however, I do not recommend methods 1-3 until you truly know the game mechanics.

T5-t6 is the best crew training tiers, personal reserves aren't hard to get, got over 1,000 and I can't use them up fast enough. Best way to grind crew xp is to just keep playing. I do recommend at least getting a premium tank or some premium time if you plan on playing longer. Premium time is the best investment you can make in this game since it increases your crew xp, regular and free xp, and your credits by 50%

2% in 10 battles is very fast.

Wait til you start training a 4th or 5th skill and it takes a hundred+ battles to get 1%.

There really isn't any way to train crews FAST.

In fact, the terrible truth is you just saw that crew increase their percentage THE FASTEST RATE IN THE GAME.      You see, from the standing start, each skill trains up TWICE AS SLOWLY as the one before.    So the first skill of any new crew member moves up at the absolute fastest from the very beginning.

There is not only that problem, but another GUT WRENCHER to mention.    Every skill is trained NOT linearly, but exponentially.   The higher the percentage of training completed, the more crew XP required to complete the next percent.      Sounds rather harsh, wouldn't you say?     But it's how WG wanted it to go.

If you think those 2% increases took too long, wait until those skills are at 98%, and you're GRINDING the last 2%.      It sucks.    It sucks so badly, you just might do what WG wants you to do and that's spend some FreeXP to buy the last percentages.

If you don't follow all that, then spend some time reading up about what FreeXP is.    But first, read up about crew training.   There are some charts that show how each skill is earned etc etc

There are a lot of "etc etcs"  in this game.    Most of them exist to suck you into spending real money on a Free-to-Play game.

OP nothing has changed since the last time you posted this exact same topic a week ago.  Go review the previous topic's replies.  The advice is still the same.

check this out for full details...

edit: i do have a few crew men who are working through the 7th skill, not at my PC but i think around 5-6000 matches to get 100% on 7th and start 8th(if they have it)

a 2 man crew tank will level the fastest as exp only gets spread over those 2.so a six man crew takes much much longer as same exp gets spread over 6

Some of my most skilled crews came from tanks I played the heck out of.  Find a tank you like and that you play well, elite it, accelerate crew training, and play it lots more.  Accelerated crew training helps - a lot, if the crew isn't large, you will rack up XP since you do well in the tank, and you will enjoy the process because you like the tank.  I loved my T-34, played over 900 games in it, with the crew improving all along the way.  It's not a grind, if you are having fun.

Tier 1 vehicles have 100% crews, move them up as you go, don't start over.  Can retrain for gold or silver.

Most of my crews on console had 8-9 skills/perks and SS was a default. Crews on PC are a tad ridiculous. Still, it hasn't dissuaded me yet.

For me, I just pay to have them trained up to 80%, and then grind from there. It is 20k credits for each crew member to be trained, so you have to pick your tanks and crews carefully early on.
