God this crapwas an issue last year, and its STILL NOT FIXED???? WTH WARGAMING.

Do you even comprehend how frustrating this is?

Here's what happens when you aim at a rock(aiming circle points straight at it):

Spoiler

BUT IF YOU DARE TO AIM A FEW INCHES ABOVE IT(for example to try and shoot an unspotted enemy tank)...

Then poof, now your freaking aiming circle is pointing all the way at the sky and shooting 10+ degrees horizontally OVER where you actually want it to go.

Spoiler

Fix your stupid broken crapwargaming. I'm tired of being screwed over by your crappy development team.

And it has been happening in random battles also..When told support, they blamed me saying I was moving when I was not, tho they saw the replay. They had lots of time since last we had frontlines and all they can do about this is ban the player who complains too much when they do not address old problems showing they dont even play the game.

yep.

Had an issue where I couldn't fire on a Skorpion as I was behind a rock and the gun kept rising up.

Nothing in this game is really perfect and it can never be.

As for the aiming problems , what the OP is talking about seems to happen in all modes at times(quite a few players have agreed with this). Been that way for a few yrs now.  Something about how they have the aiming programmed now, wasn't this way in the early years(the early years had other aiming problems at times).

I'd like to see it fixed , but i also realize that the fix , could be worse that what we have now

It isn't broken, it's just the game mechanics. When you aim above the rock your gun is effectively centered on a point in the far distance so your gun elevates enough for your shell to reach that distant point. There is no way for the game to know what point along your line of sight that you're focusing on. This is really only an issue with slow shells, i.e. derp guns, because slow shells need more arc to reach distant targets. Not trying to snipe with derp guns is usually a pretty good fix for this problem...

Trying to shoot something with your gun is a perfectly normal and acceptable activity in a tank game.  HTH

It's been in game since it started, it's not really a bug it's just the auto compensation the game uses to aim with. Has nothing to do with Frontline. I do wish we could toggle it off in certain situations.

Yes. That's exactly the issue. There SHOULDN'T BE a point in the far distance for the aiming system to catch onto.

For example, go play on fisherman's bay in the mid. The aiming system properly handles shooting just above ridges on that map(with the nearest obstacle being many miles behind the ridge visually), UNLIKE how it handles frontlines.

It's also worth noting this is a significantly larger issue on the attacking side, than the defending side, as the defenders have the mountains behind them, which for some reason wargaming decided to add hitboxes that interact with the aiming system.

Also, this isn't sniping, as that shot was only about 100m away when I took the screenshots. Furthermore, I didn't know how a lt432 is a derp gun(lul)? Do you think derp guns have a 4.2s reload? That's clearly visible in screenshots.

No. This wasn't an issue back in early days as already stated.

I'll likely post a video at some point showing the difference between how aiming is handled in frontline vs a map like fishermans bay.

Well, when I first started playing and complained about the same thing I was told it's always been like that.

I would rather play a buggy Frontlines that get stuck in a Paris/Himmelsdorf/Ruinberg Rotation for like 4 hours.

LOL

Only thing I have seen buggy on Frontlines is the Repair circle flicker on the boundary, and the reticle bounce a handful of times.
