It's not MY idea how to play the game.  It's the ATTACKING team.  Aren't they supposed to ATTACK?

What do you do whenever the attacking team doesn't want to attack?  Do you join them and just farm damage, or do you try to capture bases and get the ball rolling?  It's kind of hard to capture a base when hardly anyone is attacking.

Some let others have too much control over them. Not me.

If you can not handle how others play, then don’t play team games.

You can change your attitude or the games you play. But you can not change how others play.

Frontlines only highlights just how useless campers and timid players are in this game.  Every time I get on the attacking team I cringe thinking about how many useless campers and wusses I'll get.  It's almost like fighting with one hand tied behind your back when you get the usual dose of wusses and campers.

I didn't think one year would make such a huge difference, but I was wrong.  The number of wusses and campers just exploded, such much so that half of the attacking teams in frontlines are completely useless.   Last year, one could simply leave the campers to rot in their own sector and join a sector that looked like it was moving.  There usually was one or two.  Not any more.

They all say "what am I supposed to do?  rush?"

ummm... yeah.  It'll accomplish a lot more than what your camping is doing.  The cap circle doesn't need overwatch, it needs direct support when you are on the attacking team.

It takes a little bit for people's brains to settle into the two modes, evidently.  I had the same problem on attack yesterday...

So you are advocating just looking out for yourself in a TEAM game....  OK then

I'm pretty sure they're advocating taking control of what you can, and not what you can't.

edit: Can you help another player who is doing something smart? Yes. Can you force an idiot to be smart? No.

I played 11 battles yesterday; have only made it into Level 10.

I had one private rank (Ugh! What a waste of 20+ minutes) but two captain ranks- almost one major. Then five sergeant and three lieutenant ranks.

My teams have won and lost from both directions.

What I do not get is not being aggressive when attacking. I do not mean yoloing but being responsibly aggressive.

Two examples:

In a pre-game message, a guy says to storm A; many agree. Battle starts. He and I zip our Progettos into the base, but where is everyone else? Hmm. Not on base. Ok, then. Maybe they’re supporting us from nearby spots while we are on the clock. Nope. Nowhere close.

We are attacking team but having trouble capturing F. Time is at five minutes, teammates in other sectors “strongly suggesting” things about us. Guys in my sector message, Let’s Go! Swarm the base.

I guess swarm the base meant one other guy and me advance. We lasted a few moments inside the circle. The rest of the squad- and there were at least 7 nearby- evidently couldn’t start their tanks bc none of them moved. (They could’ve at least called AAA for roadside assistance.)

Finally, at the 2:20 mark, they move into and capture the base. Too little, too late. And 20 other teammates not pleased.

I've only won on the attacking team.

Yeah, attacking is a little clunky because it requires you to get on the cap and effectively take your tank out of the battle. It’s kind of counterintuitive because most players want to do damage, but capping gives crazy ranking and XP. Still, it’s incredibly boring for me.

One thing I would like to see is the opportunity for the attacking team only to be able to switch tanks. When queueing I tend to choose an all rounder like my 5/1, because good on attacking and defending. However, if I knew I was attacking I would go with my LT-432 and rush the cap. I would also like to see the attacking team be able to reposition within the safe zone during the 30s pregame time.

I am advocating putting your big boy pants on, and quit crying.

You controt you, and not the other players. You can’t change what you cannot control.

So either change your attitude or the game, because you sure the heck are not changing how others play.

And here I am hating it when I am defending.  I had 4 defends in a row last night, and I had 4 perk crews missing fully aimed shots the whole time.  I was in my UDES and bounced three shots in a row on a T92, and those were the shots the connected.  The one map I had attack and I couldn't miss all of a sudden.  And yes I know it's me and the game really doesn't do that, but it was frustrating and sure felt like it.

I was going to say I get the passive play on both sides. Not only do you see players refuse to move into the attack and gain a cap, the defensive players respawn at the rear, find a nice bush and wait for something to drive by so they can snipe in their IS3A or Defender.

Attacking is about taking the initiative to overmatch a flank. Alot of times at the start of an offense I'll hop over to the next flank so they have an extra tank. The best games for me have been when defenders on a flank get demoralized and respawn elsewhere, then I spearhead a push with a light or medium tank.

I just stopped playing it. Games lasting 30+ minutes are not my thing.

Yeah, after playing Frontline for a long while.  I just got bored with it.  Plus it was pulling me away from what lines I have been grinding.  What kept me continuing the Frontline battles was the credit makings and the consumable awards.  I'll still play it here and there but not for long periods at a time.

Hard to rush when the second you peek from a safe location 1k of your hp is taken away by skorp gs and su130pms.

any one else having the problem of being on teams that will not do anything while the enemy team is all attacking or defending your team has more then 5 or 6 afkers and people in tds sitting in the back while attacking and do less then 500 damage through the full game

Played FL 3 times last night.

Spent my time having fun and not trying to count possible afk tanks and campers.

If losing really gets to you playing WoT, then that is all on you.

My performance decides if I am having fun, not my teammates or winning/losing.

Also I discovered concentrating on my play and not worrying about others, helps my performance.

yes thats all good and all, but if i play like the rest of my team ill get no damage, but if i try hard i get shot by 5 or 6 tanks while yours are sitting way aways and camping so its either try and get slaughtered or sit and do nothing nice game mode

Outside of some tournaments, WoT is a team game.

Hyperbolic claims do not change that.
