Lowe and JT88 seem to work fine for turret defense/assault. M41 90 is totally viable even if the LT-432 has many advantages over it. Skorpion is of course the best T8 TD for frontlines.

Personally I think America has it worse. I dont think there's a single US T8 that is legitimately worth going out of your way to invest in for frontlines. The closest you'd get is the Patriot, which is solidly "good enough but not Defender", just like the Liberte and CAX. Germany at least has something best in class, though I agree it's a pretty sad lineup otherwise.

The Lowe was good at defending the city at the end (but I traded mine in a while ago).  None of my German tanks are exceptional in Frontlines, BUT they all do much better in frontlines than in random pubs, so I play them there instead of pubs.

My HWK seems to be the most improved out of all of the ones I play.

I typically play my HWK and Panther 2 the most

I use the Tiger 2 in city defense

the indien pz only when the panther2 and HWK are dead.

If I hadn't forgotten to Mive my Indien Panzer Crew lastnight I would have used it....    But I used my 41/90 and my Lowe instead....

I also used my Lynx and BC 12T alot, along Somua...     But that's mainly because I used the Lowe alot last Run if Frontline and I know it Works....     I didn't have a Large Tier 8 Garage the last Go'Round.....    That meant alot of Lowe, Prog 46, and Lorr 40T then....

Iv been playing all of my T8s. Ferdinand, JGTR88, T26E4, T44, and skorp. People definitely are gravitating to more forgiving tanks.

The game is full of Defenders and Progettos......nothing more. In the other hand, I play with german tanks in frontline, M41 90, Tiger 2, Panther 8,8, Kanonenjagdpanzer.

I tried Frontline for the first time last night. I only have German tanks. Tried the HWK and VK45A and found i was losing too many credits trying to pen the "balanced" Russian Tanks. In two games running those two tanks i lost 400k credits. IN TWO GAMES. Switched to the GW Tiger P and had a little more fun and actually started making credits (around 40-50K per battle), but alas i'm not sure this game mode is for German Tier 8 tanks thus me as well.

I'm sure the rhm wouldn't have any problems with Russian armor.  My skorp doesn't.

Scorp. Ya, you get an occasional weirdo like me who whips in a Panther 88 or something. But....... at tier 8, this kind of shows the crazy imbalance in the game? Anyone have luck consistently in anything but the Scorp? I had to switch to T-44, 252 u, etc. (I don't own a Scorp). Did not see a single Tiger II the entire night. Only one Ferdi. Rarely a Roomba, one Panther II. Wish the devs would think about things like this. I know, a German tank gripe, but wow tier 8 is bad for Germany.

Fantastic fun though, first time tried Frontline. Did well. Just could not use my German tanks.

Soviet bias my friend....just look at the IS3a, and the soviet skorp.  There is a clear soviet bias in the game and you should know it by now.

And probably, they were crap, in comparison of the performance of Progetto, Defenders, T44s, Caern AXs, etc..

Literally won the first game I'd used a stock VK 100.01 in by dropping it in on the final line defense and putting it in an invulnerable position. Blocked 4.5k damage, killed two of them, made the others pull back and flank which gave the rest of the team time to respawn.

PERFECTLY BALANCED but it is German.

I had my VK 100.01 P out yesterday on attack.  Soaked up a lot of shots while threatening cap so teammates could push the side flanks.  Seemed to work okay until I sat on the cap area too long while unsupported and got surrounded.  On defense the VK again was fun, hearing all the shots rain off the armor until a pair of Skorps on a high ridge in the east focused me.

Meant to take out the Schwarz as well but I had 2 long sessions with the Type 59 where it pretty much soaked up time for most of the battle so maybe today I'll give it a chance.  Was thinking to try the Jg 8.8 as well for amusement's sake.

I must have had the odd games because I saw many Tiger IIs, Kjpzs, and borsigs along with the Skorps.

What didnt seem seem to do too well were light tanks with the exception of Even90s.

All of yesterday:

2 Ferdies

2 Tiger II

1 Panther II

1 Kanonenjagdpanzer 105

1-2 Lowe

Couple of VK100.01

Think I saw 1 Mutz (or Pz.58) other than myself.

Tons of Skorps, Defenders, Russian Skorp, IS3 (and a few 3A). Also T28 seems to be a fixture as well-not super plentiful but present in every match.

German tanks (except for the Skorp) largely need not apply in this game mode. People choose AFV's that are competitive, and the only real competitive German vehicle at T8 is the Skorp. Every other country has something at least as good-and generally better-in every non TD category. The Mutz is my only German vehicle available to me and I am finding that rarely choose to go with it.

LTs, I see more LTs flying around in packs like mediums use to.  And they are devastating when they work together like that, they can take a zone down in no time.

It is sad that, at least in my opinion, the Black Dog is a better Light, at tier 8, than the RU 251 is, at tier 9.  I'm going to be shocked by the level of disparity between the HWK 30 and the Black Dog (or the disparity between the HWK 30 and the RU).  In both cases, the tech tree Lights are woefully lacking and that doesn't even take into account how people rag on the Rhm. Pw.  On a side note, I think that my RU's HEP rounds are broken because they heat seek right into the tracks of everything.  No [edited], I was behind a Lorraine last night and with 75 meters or so, fully aimed at the dead center of his [edited], and the round dropped down and to the right for 16 damage in its tracks.  What the Hell?

As to the overall point of this topic, I actually enjoyed my Ferdinand, while on defense at the gun batteries.  What I think that a lot of people are missing is that you need the right tool at the right time.  While the broken POS that is the Progetto is great, at all aspects of the game mode.  You actually need speed and flexibility for every mode, with the exception of gun defense.  When you get to that point, flexing is less of a need, IF you position correctly.  At that point, it is all about longevity and damage output.  Though, sadly, knobs are going to ruin the game mode just like they ruin Random Battles.  So, you've got to take the play with a grain of salt.

M41 90 gets run a lot.  It makes bank, does good damage, and can quickly shift from front to front.  I drive the hell out of mine during FL.
