I made Prestige Level 1 just now, and thought I'd share some numbers...

I hit this rank after 35 matches. In those matches, I managed "General of the Army" status 11 times. This means I'm reaching the top position in nearly 1/3 of my matches. I don't know how many were simply "General", but probably a few more. Still, it took me 35 matches to get this first Prestige, which means it could easily take 350 matches in total for me to reach Prestige X. I can only imagine what an "average" player must be going through.

x.

Other than being a great player, what's your secret? I can hit Major if I play right but the frustration seems to take all sense out of me. Either I am running into everything and their Moma, making terrible shots, or the incompetent teams that drive me nuts. Congrats on Prestige One. Hope the rest goes well for you!

Do these Prestige levels carry over to the next month?

Yes. Prestige Levels float through the whole Season, which is 10 months long (1 week Session each month, now until November). You have until the end of the last Session to reach your final Prestige destination (e.g. somewhere between Level I and Level X), and you can make up ground at any time, but can never be more than two Levels past the current Session - during Session V (5) you can reach Level VII (7) only. So you carry over your Prestige Levels throughout the year until the end.

Well done Xrays.  What damage are your averaging?  10k or so?

Any guesses how long it would take an average player to earn the WZ 111?

Be patient, and don't play for the win as much as play for your own personal rank increase. Spotting makes huge XP, so use the Recon planes at the right times. Tracking tanks also helps. Shooting tanks that are attempting to cap the zones is great, and shooting multiple tanks capping is fantastic - which means you can even yolo in to reset a few tanks if it helps your team. Group together with other similar tanks and attack smaller groups when possible, basically using numbers against the enemy, then retreat and recharge.

One key element that a lot of people seem to gloss over is the Engineering perk. This provides faster capping rates and will actually stop capping if you're in the cap while defending. I have made great progress with two other light tanks (all with Engineering at full) rolling onto a cap and capturing a zone in less than 30 seconds... Then repeat.

And, again, despite the fact that there are 60 tanks on the battlefield, Prestige ranks are only based on individual performance, and winning doesn't necessarily help you. Don't get frustrated about winning or losing, focus more on your own individual accomplishments, and do what you can to rank up. Damage, spotting, capping, defending. That's really all it is.

I have a question.  It was said that prestige carries over, that means that you only grind out 30 levels the 10 times.  Is this correct.

What tanks do you recommend playing? I've been trying to play my grind tanks but it gets frustrating after a while.

Wow, 35 Frontline battles in less than 2 days!

I wish I had that much free time.

Conga Rats on the Prestige.

I also just got to level 30 and reset to 1. I wasn't counting my games but it didn't seem like that many, though since its so fun it could have seemed fast. Since this is only the second day and you need to average 30 (1 prestige) a month I'm not really worried about people not getting tanks. I saw somewhere it was about 30k points to go from 1-30 so if you get 6k a day you have 2 days leftover each week.

Personally, I focus on abusing peoples' lack of knowledge of Frontlines as much as possible. I fully admit to having no idea how to spot, so I do what I do best, which is greedily farming all the damage I can get my grubby hands on. This is spectacularly easy in Frontlines (or it has been for me these last couple days anyway), because there are a consistently large number of people in Frontlines who do not give themselves an escape route out of a crossfire.

What I've been mostly doing is looking for gaps in enemy coverage, and sitting in a safe spot right in said gap to set up a crossfire. There is usually a conveniently located building or rock or something, so the major worry is arty strikes, which are obviously the bane of this strategy. Regardless, I can say that it's been working quite well; I think I've been averaging around 10k DPG, but my assistance per game has of course been low, so overall I am not doing as well as I look. If you want to be consistently General of the Army, don't do this. If you want to be consistently top damage (like me:trollface:), do.
