In regards to my earlier post, if there was a normal play game mode that was arty free, would you play that mode as a "1st choice"?

Sorry bro, majority of players here think clickers are a good thing. That includes wg who forces you to use arty for missions. I mean, who doesnt like being focused out repeatedly by some clicker other side of the map? You will be shouted down, they cant handle the loss off their rng generator

You know where I haven't seen this poll? Sent out from WG in one of those surveys that they send to all players in the game.

They'll never do it because arty won't have anyone to shoot at except themselves.

If there is a mode without artillery, then there has to be one with no lights, another with no mediums, one mode with only heavies. Yet another mode with just lights and TD's. 

 

A game without artillery is one of the slowest boring games on the internet.

Every corridor covered with multiple guns. Everyone goes to their "usual spots".

First player to move gets destroyed. It then devolves into the pathetic pop out shooting. No one wants their paint scratched, so no one moves. 

Artillery is here to get those sad sad traffic jams moving.

 

The entire list of complaints, is the role it is supposed to play. Don't stop to shoot, don't camp to long, 3 shots most. Spotted, get unspotted, and not where you just got spotted.

 

Artillery hits you once, only a total moron will sit there for more. Then blame someone else for the idiot strategy of staying. Somehow, engaging one enemy with some silly tactic like side scraping, is brillaint, a hard to master skill. But sitting with flank exposed to arty is not so brilliant. For some reason, the twit exposing himself is being treated unfairly, because he is getting shot by arty.

i hate arty most of times (there is a two of three arty that MUST be nerfed, and another one that should be deleted from game, lefh, of course) but also i play arty some times, and arty helps your team, you know? for each arty shooting at you, there is an arty shooting at reds too. Numbers is a problem, should be no more than 2 arties per team.

 

Fix arty, no need to remove from game (with only one exception, of course)

I'm using this thread to identify all the arty supporting 'players' so I can focus them with arty in frontline. I enjoy irony.

I've taken about five surveys from WG since I started playing.  One of them was directly related to SPGs and had about fifteen different questions.  At least eight of them were related to how I felt about SPGs.

 

Did I play them?

Was I okay with them?

What maps did I think were bad for SPGs?

What maps did I think were good for SPGs?

How often did I play them?

Were there changes I would make to them?

Did I play them as much, less or more than other unit types?

Would I be in favor of them being removed?

 

There were other questions, though at that point most of them were related to things like Premium Time, Premium Vehicles, Events, Missions and amount of time a week I played.

 

 

I don't know how often they do SPG specific surveys -- or how often they do surveys at all.  I have, as I said, taken about five surveys from WG since I started in September of 2014.

Could we also have a light tank free mode ?, or what about a heavy tank free mode ?. Oh I know let's have a medium tank free mode....

Arty isn't overwhelming a game, and I enjoy playing them. Rarely are they on top unless a team is bad, then it could go either way. The real problem is their ability to track vehicles leaving them exposed to fire, and hitting things behind cover. It's not too bad when there is just 1, or sometimes even 2 in a battle, but 3 is a bit much. That then allows an opposing player to be singled out for repeated hits, especially when you are large and slow. . The just need to limit the number of arties in a match and un(Curseword) the track system. There need to be a 5-10 second track invulnerability after getting tracked. I hate that when you trying to get over a hill or around a corner and get tracked to death without ever firing a shot. I'm sure they wont fix it though, because they can't figure out how to make money on it.

3 per team is fine and none of them need nerfing or removal.
